I select System Audio and when it plays, BACCH lights up. It doesn’t like me trying to flick between the direct output (USB) to my Directstream Mk2 via Maestro and via BACCH, so I just stick with BACCH. I can also stream to my Mano 2 streamer which connects to the DAC via I2S.
Does it sound right? last time I did that it did not sound right. soemthing seemed off.
Hi Brian
I can’t quite remember how I fumbled through the settings but early on, whatever I clicked was unlistenable - your experience!
What I hear now is absolutely spot on, and better than Roon through BACCH.
I’m interstate for a few days, so can’t look at the settings right now.
Cheers
Phil
Latest version v11.0.323, on MacOS 26.6.2. Ella is back to playing only one track and quitting again. Also, Maestro only plays one track and stops (from Qobuz). Gapless tracks doesn’t seem to be functioning. Let me know if you need logs @Paul
That one-track-and-stop on the Mac is a bug I’ve been chasing this week, and it’s the same thing behind Ella quitting and the gapless not kicking in. Maestro was running a check about eighty seconds in that could decide a working session had failed and tear it down. Your log would show exactly that, so no need to send it yet.
The fix is in a test build. Quit Maestro (right-click its Dock icon, then Quit) and install over the top. Apple Silicon: https://api.maestroaudio.net/downloads/v11.0.326/Maestro_11.0.326_aarch64.dmg — Intel: https://api.maestroaudio.net/downloads/v11.0.326/Maestro_11.0.326_x86_64.dmg
Play an album through, then an Ella station. If either still stops, that’s when I want the log: in Maestro, click Settings in the left sidebar under Tools, then Export Logs, and send me what lands on your Desktop.
Looking forward to it. Thanks
Will try tomorrow morning and send if it fails Paul. Will let you know either way
Being a Maestro user from the very beginning I can assure that it sounds way better than Roon, Audirvana, Qobuz Connect and JPLAY. There are sometimes some minor bugs, but Paul is damn good at sorting them out, and mostly already the same day he has a fix/solution. Now I am a proud paid subscriber, I just LOOOOVE Maestro.
Yes, I’ve tried ALL of them and bubbleUPnP and mconnect Player and Foobar2000 and HQPlayer and Moode and Volumio and no, none of them get close to the sound I’m getting using Maestro.
Morning Paul, Ella seems to be working, but track advance from Qobuz does not. Also, maybe of note - I’m getting an error saying that the “track name” couldn’t play - please press play to try again. The track was still playing…
(Attachment maestro-diag-11.0.326-20260924-062049.zip is missing)
Glad Ella’s holding. The other two are the same fault: Maestro decided that track had failed while it was still playing, put up the message, and then didn’t advance because it thought the track had died. The 326 build fixed one way that happened; you’ve found another, and your log will show me which.
The log you tried to upload here don’t come through so you have to actually email it to me or go through Maestro support system.
I forwarded it to : support@maestromusic.app will that work? Your email spits it back..
Mike
My email, paul@psaudio.com spits it back? Oh boy, wonder why. I seem to get plenty other ones. In any case, yes, an email and attachment to support should work fine.
MacOsX 27 works fine with Maestro V 323
Welcome!
Sorry Paul, I guess I replied to your email inside of the chat board (incoming+3e690977ccbdaa328245659bf73f418e@psaudio.discoursemail.com) . Resent to paul@psaudio.com. Will try to get it right sooner or later!..
No worries and it worked and I already sent you a reply. Thanks for your help!
Hi also with usb dac?
Hi @brian.fitterman
I have attached a screenshot of my Maestro output - System Audio, but pointed to BFP&DAC within that. Sounds great.
Phillip can you get DSD playback from Meastro? I can’t get it with my DSMKII - I’m using USB.
