AXPONA 2019 .... amazing pics and lots of FUN!

As far as I know, neither the TSS nor the DMP is working properly yet.

At little dyslexic at the end there with NA3…JA’s initial opinion after a brief exposure is favorable.

It seems that I might be a little late to the party but wow the PS Audio looks so good!!!
I am very impressed!
Congrats to those who designed it (Terri) !
It looks very professional and open for business…
Enjoy the time there.

That’s why PS Audio has the Stellar lineup. For people like me who love and appreciate the BHK’s, DS Sr. & Jr, DS memory player, and the PowerReGen’s. Stellar gives guys like me “taste” of the good life while yearning one day to have the coin to join the big league’s. I’ve trolled these PS Audio forums praising my 1 week and day old Stellar Stack (SGCD & 2x M700’s).

@Broderic Let not such trifle distractions steer you off course of what is most important. It is not the journey, but the endpoint. TRUE audiophiles would walk barefoot over shards of glass, scale Everest in a tank top and shorts, or cross the span of Death Valley with nothing more than a jar of caffeine pills and a bottle of Scotch to reach the level of audio quality only the TSS and DMP can offer. Esoteric is learning and they may get there, and hopefully its foam will be displaced by beer and a true contender of an audio product will emerge. But for now… Viva La TSS y DMP!!!

I’m quite sure that every single piece of that Esoteric stack on display is production status and flawless. Compare that to DMP, which is now EOL and still doesn’t work properly. AN3 prototype on display and showing promise, but still a prototype. TSS prototype on display with high expectations, but still a prototype. A pair of P20 in the setup and we’re reading tragic tales of a disappointed owner who received two brand new P20 this week, one was DOA and the other appears to have smoked his pre-amp. I mean, seriously. From somebody who has owned both, i.e. me, the experience of both brands is polar opposites.

I should not have to do all those things, walking on glass shards, scaling Everest etc to achieve satisfaction. My lowly expectation is that what I buy does exactly what it’s supposed to do, and that is 99% of the satisfaction.

Sooooo. Anyhow, how much are tickets to this gig? I want to go next year. Do you leave loaded with pens and coffee cups and dreams?!

(I actually love all the little freebies, I sort of dig the decals they put in with the P20 instruction book)

And now for something completely different. A few suggestions for places to eat, for people attending Axpona.

I grew up in Palatine, which borders Schaumburg, the location of Axpona. I worked in Schaumburg for a number of years before I moved to Las Vegas. So, if you’re looking for places to eat, I have a few suggestions.

Giordanos, one of the great deep dish pizza places in the Chicago tradition. There is one about 5 minutes from the conference.

Portillos, great Italian beef, and for dessert, chocolate cake. There is one less than 10 minutes from the conference.

Heng Wing, a Chinese restaurant in Palatine. Exceptional egg rolls, pot stickers, and crab Rangoon for appetizers. A nice selection of main courses. They are about 10 minutes from the conference.

You should be able to find any of these places pretty easily, just ask your phone. Since I moved, I miss the food in Chicago.

Enjoy the show!

Shaw’s Crab House, Chicago Prime, Webber Grill, and Wildfire are a few of my favorite restaurants fairly close to Axpona, although it might be a little late to get a reservation this weekend.

Paul definitely has some sharp talents!

This year, 2019, it is 30 dollars at the door. They have a lot of early bird specials. I bought a 2 day ticket for 30 dollars a month or to earlier.

It’s very affordable. $60 for three days. Definitely the best adult Disneyland ticket you can buy.
