Bandcamp Fridays -- A great way to help musicians get paid for their work

Hi all. Today is Bandcamp Friday, which is currently a monthly occurrence of the first Friday of every month. On Bandcamp Fridays, the music delivery site known as Bandcamp waives its standard revenue share and those funds go directly to the artists whose works are purchased on the site. On normal days, artists receive approximately 82% of the purchase price. On Bandcamp Fridays, they receive approximately 93%. You can read more about it here:

I have found some amazing music on Bandcamp, and I find the interface conducive to discovering artists and recordings about which I was unaware previously.

Streaming music on Tidal, Qobuz, and the like does not net the artists much money at all. Buying their music on Bandcamp is much better revenue source for the artists, as this article explains in detail:

If you have not yet tried Bandcamp, today – Bandcamp Friday – would be a great day to do so.

Thanks for the tip – listening now and it sounds great! I will purchase the download before the stroke of midnight on this Bandcamp Friday.

Bandcamp is awesome! Streaming is killing artists.

Just purchased “Bluegrass and the Abstract Truth.” To my pleasant surprise, the FLAC version is a ‘stealth’ high-res download (24/96).

Based on download sizes, the ALAC version might be standard CD resolution, however:
