You have to separate the pairs prior to added finish work. And, they aren’t meant to be separated! A special little tool for that. But, it still takes some time to do the work.
The collar under the banana port is a good idea for those that cling and jerk on occasion.
HAS Houston Audio Society interconnect seminar is in the bag. Went really well and fun. Good ideas on what we hear based on what the measurements are. Still, no way to define a Twinkie based on each ingredient by itself. We can define the quality of the measurement, not the sound.
OK Mark, don’t steal my thunder… However, it is still time consuming, exacting and as Darrell states “no nicked wires.” Obviously you’ve never seen me with wire strippers. And you have to do it 192-times for a pair… Then the soldering starts or in the case of welding, the organized routing and placement begins. I hope no one ever oversimplifies Iconoclast. It is a truly hand built (with love of course) product. The proof is in the performance.
First Iconoclast Advertisement - We convinced Kurt to test the water doing some banner ads on the Stereophile home page. Actually the ad stays with you as you travel through the site. This in the world of high end/performance audio where most have never heard of Iconoclast. It is a start.
Galen visits the Houston Audio Society - Over the weekend Galen was invited to and facilitated a 2-hour presentation on the design, engineering and manufacturing of interconnects. This 3,000+ member organization is one of the largest in the country and has been highly receptive to Galen and Iconoclast. Lots of all varieties of Iconoclast cables have found permanent homes in Houston. According to Joe F. who was kind enough to host the event at his home,
“Following the presentation, we all listened to my system and the effects of the Iconoclast cables: sparkling clear and dynamic. Though the meeting started at 2 PM, my last guest was so intent on listening he left at 11:30 PM.”
Mogami Gold Interconnects and 10 ga standard OFC speaker cables. I also trialed all of the iconoclast coppers, but UPOCC and SPTPC were clearly best in my system.
Thanks for a great question and one that I hope will bring many of the Iconoclast converts to reply. Even a fair level of response to your question will be impressive. Cables costing several multiples more including Nordost, Transparent, Wire World, Synergistic, Kimber, etc., etc., will be included.
But the story needs to be told by those who made the change. The testimonials reflect the now fierce loyalty of our customers. And, hopefully will include comments on a commendable level of customer service, no-risk audition and trade up policies and the science backed data we provide.
Bob i talked to you on the phone about the jumpers a few weeks ago. I see you stated they are now available. Any info you could pass along would be appreciated.
You sir are the victim of an error on my part and a wife who does not seem to be able to refrain from cleaning my desk. No excuses are acceptable but I will say that I misplaced your contact info. Yes, the welded, locking banana jumpers can be done now. These are incredible to hold in hand and I cannot be more impressed with the quality. Please send me your contact information, the length of the jumper you require and which copper variant/s you would consider and I will get back to you tomorrow with a price.
Again, please accept my apology and for your patience.
Bob i have TPC speaker cables. I am not sure of the length i would need but see attached picture of what i have.

The jumpers are an “extension” of the speaker cable polarity and not the cable itself (need two polarity close to act like a L and C device). The jumpers are a “R” type circuit and SHOULD be “invisible” based on resistance.
If you have really good metal plate jumpers, I see little evidence you are improving anythnig. If you lost your jumpers or have smaller AWG jumpers these are going to “do no harm” as a replacement.
Customers asked if we had such animals and we offer a logical solution based on our design. They are meant to be as good as high quality plate jumpers, and the DCR make no claims to be better than that.
Many can’t use heavy spades very well with thick plate jumpers, so these free up some room by going banana.
If you have heavy plate jumpers, and are all set…I would not get too high on big changes.
Thanks for your honest response. if i had no jumpers I would pursue these. Audio can be funny and small changes expected to be transparent can improve sound. If several customers experience gains then I am all ears and remain a supporter of your products having experienced them and happily own them.
