Oh, Bob, I didn’t suggest it would be.
But my statements stands even more so given what Galen will attempt to make clear to some of these folks.
Sounds like Galen’s presentation at AXPONA will be an opportunity to gather the Iconoclast Cable fan base. I look forward to meeting people there that I respect from this forum.
We’re gonna need a list of those people. Those of us not on the list don’t want to disappoint you. ![]()
Happy cake day @luca.pelliccioli !!!
Enjoy your cake Luca!
The differences in cable are clearly tested, measured and calculated. You can’t refute that. Design makes a difference as analog audio is superposition time based addative. Every change alters the signals added up at any moment in time.
The argument is to some an “approximation” that suggests that the advantage we at least have, which is the speed of an EM wave in a dielectric, it is still pretty fast and does indeed mitigate the problems, but it can’t remove them. I will bring this up so it is understood too.
Cable can be made to test better, but does this impact their actual use and how signals “sound”? Does it suggest that tertiary materials are better, assuming that the basic design fundamentals are all done as well as we can? All this stuff has to be set-up and used to know.
We have standard 1313A zip cord, 1310A in star quad, series I and series II ICONOCLAST all with measurable differences. I’m not sure how much more transparent we can get than that. The nay sayers and the people who believe a better cable is indeed better (and that is what we sell, the actual design specifications), can all shop at the same place. What’s the problem with that?
Even historical gurus, far smarter than I, have covered this before like Nelson Pass. I’ll show his data as well, and that it exactly meshes with my testing. And, testing that has been done for decades. There are measurable differences in cables, 100% true, through analog audio.
Best,
Galen
Looks like all the BAV power cables are out of stock and also there is a price increase, bummer…
Thanks to that, went to The Cable Co looking for an alternative, Voodoo Black Magic 2M is on sale, nice.
Only the 10 AWG power cords are out of stock with replenishment in less than a month expected. No price increases since late last year and the only one since the inception. Inflation… Our power cords are so good that we had a recent order for 87-pieces. The following day another Iconoclast customer purchased 17 of the 10 AWG cords. We must be doing “something right.”
The entire Belden / BAV / Blue Jeans / Iconoclast lineup is a bargain for the asking prices. We are lucky to have them local to the USA and always available for guidance.
Hmm,
I might have done something wrong then…

What’s weird also, is yesterday the price for a 6ft C19 10AWG is slightly over 400 bucks, today it’s the price I used to seeing…
Try and clear the browser cache and restarting the browser. It might help.
You didn’t do anything wrong on the availability. When I went to see what was up I was reminded that for every power cord regardless of the AWG size, there are a couple of connectors. We went through several hundred of our “custom made” plugs and IEC or Schuko connectors in one week. So while we are not out of 12 and 14 AWG cord, we are waiting for connectors. Supplies will “hopefully” all come together soon.
Please do look over pricing after refreshing the cache. Belden raises prices then BJC will have to raise prices. Has anyone been to the grocery store of late?![]()
Forecasting sales and material needs can be a challenging task when you have very little historical data. Power cords were the late comer to our offerings. We’ll get better at forecasting though I’m uncertain that other “supply chain” challenges might not continue to be a variable. We are grateful for the reception and success the power cables we received.
Remember, if I can’t ship cables then I don’t get paid. If I don’t get paid then my wife can’t buy shoes. If Sue can’t buy shoes then Bob ain’t happy. Vicious cycle!
I’m hoping for cord and connectors soon.
We should have everything back in about a month. If anyone is desperate please contact Bob or me and we can see if there’s something we can do. I don’t want to sell my Axpona show samples but there are other things around that could be salvaged.
Bob, my wife has a closet full of shoes and flip flops I’m willing to let go cheap. What size does Sue wear? ![]()
Aha! Many choose to sell show sample versus carting them back to the ‘shed’.
Oh, I just mean before the show. I want there to be some power cords at the show for people to see… After that, it’s fair game.
Ha, 7-wide. Make me a deal!
Packing up the last bit of display materials to send to AXPONA and feeling excited. We’ll be at booth 9306 and in the Treehaus listening room 1418! I heard one of the other listening rooms might be wired with BAV speaker cable- see if you spot it. Looks like this box has some room for a few records ![]()
Safe trip Jeff and Galen!
I’ll be running up in the VW-GTI Thursday morning. Sure to see a few faces setting stuff up now that we’ve been at a few shows. Should be more personable as time goes on and that’s nice in this work from home world. Like to see you all having fun if I’m going to see you!
Don’t miss one of the RF to DC cable properties presentations in the master’s class schedule. I need feedback on how we’re doing with the subject matter to make it more relatable for everyone and to enjoy the technical aspects. but not too, too technical.
PS Audio and Pass Labs material will be snuck in there, with their permission of course, se we have that bit of industry sharing. This isn’t about our cables, but more how cable really works. Well, as much as I hope to do in 45 minutes!
Best,
Galen
