Having missed Galen’s presentation I too would appreciate an opportunity to view anyone’s video recording of the presentation.
It was a great presentation. 
Galen even dumbed it down a bit, but that didn’t seem to help most of the folks listening.

I talked about it in the Axpona thread. He was trying to understand, if Galen has all this empirical information on cables, whether he could recommend then which would be best for his speakers. Galen patiently tried to explain why that was not the conclusion to be drawn from his talk.

I made it back in one Frozen piece. Car covered in ice and then snow. I stupidly took the ice scraper out in warmer oxford, Ohio. I tried a credit card but the ice was was too thick. I waited until the ice thawed off the windshield and the entire hunk slide off the car. Too crazy, above 85 when I arrived and 25 when I left.
Presentations were fun. I give myself a C on the first as I didn’t want to go over, and I have a big mouth. I hit the time ten minutes too soon. The second go I slowed down and smelled the roses and spent more time explaining things. That’s a solid B for the second try.
It is hard to nail a new presentation staight away, not that it was terrible, but not perfectly timed. The IT staff asked if I was nervous, Nope, I was afraid of the PC!, not the people. You all are great.
Herb Reichert was fine. He just was hoping we could suggest the best match to speakers based on the speakers input impedance and the amp. I’ll talk to him further as he gave me permission to bug him! The answer is no, as the “distortions” we all accept are very different. I can better characterize the cable de-embedded from the AMP and speaker with open-short impedance tests, but there is just no way to suggest a “sound” any more than which amp sounds best on a speaker.
I have the T+A M40-HV amps that can be run AB, A, or A bi-amp All three sound different and all three have technically distortion too low to matter. Well, SOMETHING matters! And, not every speaker will probably say which mode is best.

I took the opportunity and was lucky enough to have Galen autograph my cables. He is a Cable Rock Star in my opinion.
There’s very few manufacturers (none that I can recall) that are willing to divulge their designs down to the molecular level and back them up with the science plus the measurements.
That makes it Iconoclastic.
I’m glad to be able to say that it matters to me and that I am happy to be a customer of theirs.
The value per $ is unmatched in my opinion.

He seems to think it’s a worthwhile effort. yay. I want one as soon as it’s ready.
Oh those were the days when I used USB. I remember them fondly. Now it seems so quaint

Ron, I’ll bug him too. I would have liked to have had an Iconoclast USB cable to complete the setup in the Treehaus room.
Our demo speakers for next year are going to be internally wired with Iconoclast too…
We are working on the USB thing, connectors are going to be an issue because I would like to do them in house but we haven’t found anything suitable like that. Seems like all USB is being terminated overseas with plastic overmolds for the strain relief, which isn’t what we would want for custom termination.

As Jeff states, Galen and Kurt and looking long and hard at USB but there are many hurdles. USB A, B, C, Lightning or what? And so many variants of one to the other. We have a great USB 3.0 cord that can be used as is or modified to meet Galen’s specs. Galen is digging into his notes and research to make determinations. Minimum order requirements are in the tens of thousands if we go offshore. With that in mind then custom length would not be available. Ideally we want to be able to terminate and test in our own plant. Due diligence is in play.
