Belden ICONOCLAST Interconnects and Speaker Cabling

Wow! They sure do think a lot of their cable!

Justifiably so; it is complex and expensive to manufacture and are one of the few cables which truly make a significant improvement in a system. Very impressive stuff.

Just out of curiosity, iOS will not display an http site?

Apparently not that page. Most browsers will auto redirect to the secure site but something isn’t working with this link. It may not be on their main server.

Thanks. An interesting quirk.

At $1700 for 1 ft interconnects and $2500 for 8 ft speaker cables, they better make me taller too.

I’m seeing

8 ft speaker cable at $1400 and 3.5 ft XLR at $470, these are much improved prices.

Have you priced the cables many consider their competitors?

Nordost Odin?! $$$

This is a great development. I thought there was a Gen 2 interconnect but it wasn’t listed. Still in the works?

Kurt’s message to me this morning,

Hi – this is Kurt Denke, owner of Blue Jeans Cable. Your message was forwarded to me.

We haven’t had a formal agreement with Belden yet on this, but we have purchased the Iconoclast inventory so although we’re not publicizing the fact until it’s official, we do have the cables available for sale. I do not yet have an informational website up, so at the moment there is nothing but a straight “purchase” page, but that can be found at:

www.bluejeanscable.com/store/iconoclast/buy.htm

Our regular shipping method on these, for domestic orders, will be FedEx Express Saver, for which there will be no charge (I haven’t run all of the shipping checks on our shopping cart yet, so it’s possible it may charge you something – if so we will refund it).

The speaker cables are available now. The “first generation” RCA and XLR are there also, but there will be an updated version of those available later – at the moment I do not have any cable so it’s the first-gen product only.

As there’s no info on the page, should you have any questions, let me know.

Kurt

Exactly. In the rarefied air in which these cables compete the prices are reasonable.

I’m completely convinced of the effectiveness of cables. In fact I’ve found them to produce as much difference as components.
That said, I’d have to hear them before I popped for $2500 for 8 ft speaker cables from any brand.
I tried a friend’s cables that come from a very highly regarded mfr that cost five figures and I heard a difference, but not a pleasing difference from my $1500. cables.

You’re quoting the most expensive copper. Galen says the geometry makes the cable and the more expensive copper/silver was somewhat to appease and recommends the least costly TPC be evaluated first. They cost less than what you have now.

Thanks. Do you have yours yet? I must admit, I’m really curious; maybe even enough to spring for them.

Not yet, I can’t believe it either, I ordered them over 12 hours ago

I’m quite sure they will best the Zu Audio libtec that I paid a whopping $62. I ordered both etpc and ofe to compare.

Oh, and definitely wait for the Gen II XLR interconnects. I got a set handmade by Galen just before he left Belden. Hopefully BlueJeans will get production up soon for those.

I believe BJC has been doing the terminations, save for those Galen did himself, for some time now. At least it was implied somewhere, don’t quote me.

You are correct. Outside of Galen, BJC has done all of the termination. Galen and Kurt have been working for months to acquire the cable at a reasonable price from Belden and get it to the market directly through BJC. Some of you have dealt with BJC in the past and can attest to their straightforward approach to marketing and service. Kurt will get the technical info up on the site (and, boy, is there a lot of it) and that is how the products will be presented. This is just how Galen wants it, without froofroo claims and pseudoscience. I personally think it is a mistake NOT to mention the unicorn butter, which is applied at just the right point in the plutonium side field distribution process, insuring the safe space for the happy electrons, but that’s just me.
Seriously, finally, these cable will be in the right hands and I hope you all will enjoy them as much as I have.

Hi – Kurt from BJC here. We have indeed been doing the terminations on Iconoclast (apart from numerous “beta” assemblies which Galen did personally) for some time and we are in the process of formalizing an arrangement with Belden on this, so there is no “official” announcement but things are moving forward. It’s fair to say that we’ve been in the odd position for some time of having the cable on hand and ready to roll, but not able to do anything about that other than to receive orders when they worked their way through the sometimes strange system. With the new arrangement, it will be much more straightforward and we will be managing the orders process ourselves, which will run more or less the same way we handle orders on our existing products.

On the Gen 1/ Gen 2 RCA and XLR cables: details will follow on the site when it’s up, but the present status is this: we have cable stock of the Gen 1 product, which is suitable for analog or digital; we have no stock at all of the Gen 2 product (analog only) but are making arrangements to get that sent to us (and, in cases where it doesn’t exist yet, manufactured). No real ETA on that but would not expect it to take more than a month or two for most of it. If anyone has questions you are welcome to give me a shout.

Hi Kurt,

Do you have an estimate of time to ship for new speaker cable orders?

Thanks,

Brett - order placed 10/10.
