Long as there is some rubber damper/cushion it should work.

Did you ever try them under a component?
It helps putting weights around the turntable as well. The weight acts like a dampener to any vibrations moving towards the object you want to protect.
Hi Vee: OK, good suggestion! I’ll try that too - including on the BHK250, on the DAC/PWT, hope my rack will carry that. 
Finally some use for these dumble discs, which were bought in an impulse. Perhaps even a disk on my pre…?
i think i’d want to wrap it in cling film to be on the safe side, but then i use leaded solder often and don’t worry so what do i know!
Yeah I generally have a breeze blowing the flux smoke away, nasty stuff!, and wash hands after handling the solder. What else can we do?
Sealing the lead with a plastic coating was an excellent idea.
Just don’t drop it on your foot

I had not heard of Smelterville. Interesting history and connection to lead smelting.
I tested and put a 2 Kg’s weight on my DSDAC which rests on my PWT. Don’t hear a thing change SQ wise… Should it rest on felt/rubber; and if so what will the added weight exactly do as any vibration will be going into the felt? (or not).

It seems strange that all of the various things we did as working class laborers building a manufacturing based empire that are now known to be toxic and or life threatening in some other way but we did them at the time just looking for some monetary income to better ourselves and our families position in society.
This is not quite fair. Many things we did, such as play with mercury as amusement, was done before we knew there was any hazard.
Typically there is overlap however. Often a company was started before we knew of the dangers, but the business continued after we recognized he harm. Thus I continue to believe society should be responsible for the cleanup before the harm was known; the company, after it was known.
I agree completely and was trying to convey that message. As just one example in my 20’s I used to collect dead car batteries and burn the cases off them to reclaim the plate lead. It paid a lot more at the scrapyard than just scrapping out the complete battery. Now it seems like one of those “wonder why I did that” kind of things.

anyway,…you can chose your weighting in increments…as needed.
caution: lead is to be handled with gloves and sealed in airtight containers…P.S. smoke will leach out lead into your atmosphere…pets and children need protection, even if you are not concerned for yourself…also suggest you prepare it outside (very difficult to vacuum up)
i use multiple (7 or more) {non-zippered} Zip-lock bags, then further sealed with duck tape (many colors to choose from) …also Betamax and VHS cartridges in zip-lock bags covered with a few layers or so of duck tape…
lead shot is great to absorb vibrations and cheap…i use the cartridges in-between components…solid lead doesn’t absorb vibrations as well…
