thanks. I actually answered my own question after I had typed that out. Here’s another, does the 9 pin saver have the same height, or serve the same purpose as the extender. Looks like tube depot has them

What did you use? Don’t have the tools if it is steel
It was a piece of steel mesh I bought from Lowes, used a grinder to cut to size and the two holes for the tubes, then painted with black spray paint.

Those Little joker 6an7 to 6922 converters are bi*ch to find in Canada.
Did you try Parts Connexion?
Yeah… looks like they have the 9 pin extenders, but don’t carry converters
