Please describe in detail your medication. I may need to test it on myself to make sure it’s safe.
How do you purchase them and how much?
My wife came home and Wanted Luciano Pavarotti. I made the mistake of playing a Tidal Version. If one needs a reason to drop acid. That would be it. Felt like nose bleed opera seats.

Seems 1500 for 1M, 2000 for 2M
It seems we’re talking about the power cable as a metaphor for, ya know, Mr. Happy, and he’s now a lead character in the Cable Sutra. Insertions, drilling, positions… all covered here. This is one spicy thread. . Will the metaphor have enough stamina to make it to the climax of this thread?
I shared in the upgrade thread, so I’ll just leave it as before. I recommend others trial one in either a regen to wall, & if you get (2) your front end digital source.
I don’t recall what place you settled upon? I am letting mine stream in DS and running HDPLEX300 24/7 trying to see if they break in more before the next movement.
For me, regen & streamer were best; regen & DAC also good.
What were power cords you displace on Regen and streamer? Did you try amp and preamp too?
Here’s what I’ve been using…Craft Audio (Mikes own blend of duelund braided cable) with ETI Rhodium terminations - total of (4)… (2) for digital components, (2) for preamps. I have (3) BAV… for regen & Monoblocks.
I found Whistler most impactful on regen (must have), and streamer. Moderate on Phono Pre / BHK (but had Craft back upstream).
If I end up with a 2nd regen. I plan to have on both regens and streamer.
I ordered another Whisper today. Is that a trio or a threesome in power cords. ? I will have to figure out where I will put that in the mix I need at least 3 to determine if they will replace my amp cords or the Dragon HC on the P20.
Thanks for sharing the experiences. Mine seem to be getting better with time. I found I can run even lower volume settings the clarity is so good and the balance across frequencies is crazy good.
Three-way.
No three way plugs on the P-20 just 8 duplexes. Good thing duplex are stacked. Seems another Whisper cord might be needed for balanced connection?
Cable Sutra Position 6. Deep Driving the low end, grabbing the mids, and hearing clear highs
After running Whispers on PSAudio Mk 1 DaC and the HDPLEX300. I pulled out the Whisper on the HDPLEX300 and went back to the previous Signal Cable silver resolution. I am getting best sound yet with just a whisper on the DS. . I started noticing the highs got too hot and extended listening was not giving me joy. I had to back off volume so much I was losing the bass and fabulous mids.
Position 7 I will add the second Whisper into my net Gear CableModem an Ethernet Switch Zero Zone LPS. This is the same supply with the ar core a transformer and transistor regulation that jkrichards recommended for his DS control board. An excellent LpS for the money. Perhaps addressing AC power there with a Whisper will be less strident. I did like the cymbal crashes on the HDPLEX300 but it gave everything an upward tilt that wasnot palatable long term.
Playing the Whisper Evaluation Playlist. Best ever Toger Waters. Too Much Rope. and Eagles Hell Freezes over Hotel California.
I thought I would add my experience with the whisper cable. Its been in my system for almost 2 months. I have been a fan of Duncan’s and Darren’s podcast from the beginning and look forward to each weeks topics and the build progress on their personal systems. Duncan has been reporting on his experiences with his DIY cable builds and came upon a design that removed RF from the system and allowed the tested systems to maximize their potential. I am a 66 years old and have been building, purchasing, trading, and flipping components since my teenage years. Before adding the Whisper cable my system was Merlin VSM with black magic upgrades, BHK 250, BHK pre, P12, DS dac, matrix ,stellar phono pre, Rega P6 and soundsmith zephyr cart. All the cabling was synergistic research atmosphere level 3’s. The system sounds great with all the boxes checked; soundstage, layering, revealing, black backgrounds etc. I corresponded with Duncan who assured me that I would get improvements in my system by adding a cable to the P12 regenerator. I took the plunge and replaced the power cable in the P12 with the whisper and have been awestruck. The change was bigger than a major component upgrade. The soundstage is larger but more focussed at the edges. The layering and position of the musicians is more distinct. You can feel the projection of vocals expand from the back of the soundstage to the front. I have believed in the importance of power cables and have a long list of power cables that have come and gone. If you are in the New York area and want to swap your power cable into the P12 and compare send me a pm.
Thanks for sharing the Whisper experience. What regenerator cable did your P12 have prior?
After I figure best Digital placement I plan to do a trial versus the AQ Dragon HC. Istill want to trial on my Amps again after the optimum placement(s) for Digital sources is locked in.
Great to offer up the trial. The Whisper can do special things after significant previous system dial in. Thanks for reaffirming what I have been hearing!
Cable Sutra Position 7 - The Missionary- converted and issued a reservation to audio heaven!
I removed As good as a single Whisper was on the DS DAC alone. Putting the second one on the ZeroZone R-core LPS powering the 3M AB7050HF RF EMF modded Netgear Router/modem/Switch is even better.
I guess it is because the SGC SonicTransporter i5 is downloading Roon from internet then unpacking and sending music back up the same ethernet cable through the Switch then UltraRendu, Matrix and out to the DS DAC via a AQ Dragon HDMI . The depth and layering took another double step up. The mids got fuller and the highs more extended The cymbal crashes are amazing as is the decay. No sibilant tones. Piano has more spatial depth. Vocals and voice nuances Patricia Barber, Leonard Cohen. Roxy Music Avalon, The Main Thing, where did all the percussion come from. Most people would never put such and expensive cable on Router duty. I am thinking always start with the source. It is truism in audio.
I love the ease of the system with vivid details.
As an added bonus. The Apple TV4 with WWPS7 gets ethernet feed from the same switch with an Inakustik cable. I decided to see what does it do for movie sound. It got a free tag along performance boost in audio the same magnitude.
I am seeing needing a fourth Whisper after Duncan sends me the 3rd. This is just plain crazy. I never thought a cord would change a router so much.
I have been spending lots more time with the Whispers since my last post. I have been though a gamut of position swaps. The router switch and DS DAC position with two was really superb. The next trial with two I left the Whisper on the Router/ Switch.
Why because it was the most influence in both music and Home Theater to boot. The next trial was on the P20. The P20 had to be ran in 15 Amp mode. Since ai had used the P20 only in 20 amp mode the wiring for connection and internal in that circuit needed to be exercised. However within 24 hours. It definitely has a great tone and incredible dynamics i was very impressed with timbre and tone. Especially with all DSP turned off. The price difference between that and the AQ Dragon HC. This is the obvious Power Cord choice if you have P15 or lower regenerator. Where I did miss the Dragon High Current was the C19 iec and ability not to shut down my Home Theater system. I watched the movie Heist wit Gene Hackman staring as a high stakes jewel thief. I had the processor set where is normal for movie listening .The first series of explosion and car crash caused my spouse to scream. So for Cable Sutra position this is the one to get your partner to hit the unexpected high note!
So dynamic up to the second boom and the mono amps and surround amp capacitor banks drained system shut down. I ended up rewatching by running the Display of dedicated 20amp wall duplex.
Music listening was very enjoyable same wonderful tone. After running throgh musical paces for several days I switched back to the Dragon High Current. The most notable difference I found was the whisper sound stage got a bit smaller in width and depth between layers and instruments and performers. Perhaps that will change with a third whisper in my system. I wouldn’t call the Dragon forward on the P20 but more holographic. The whisper still has all the details of the Dragon. Just a more compact with less space. The Whisper was still ahead of my 20amp 10 gauge BAV in tonality but about even with soundstage. Much faster sound than the BAV. I am thinking trying a Whisper with C19 IEC and Duncan says he can add another wire to up available wire Gauge.perhaps that will unseat the Dragon HC by getting the spead I am used to.
Next cable Sutra evaluation 3 Whispers. Two on the monoblocks one on Roter and Switch.
I need to send you a Stealth Dream 18 LE to try out and see how it stands up to a Dragon. I actually have a spare at the moment as it used to power my Gryphon Kalliope DAC that I traded in for the Ethos. When I bought the Ethos I bought the new all Silver power cable from Stealth. I also upgraded from Stealth Sakra V16 interconnects to the Sakra V17. I believe the DAC in th Ethos is a major step up. I also believe the new cables I bought with it make the absolute most from the Ethos. I am pretty certain these cables would have stepped up the Kalliope DACs sound as well.
Since you are doing all these studies it would be enjoyable to see your thoughts on what I have decided is the absolute minimum I accept for all my main gear. I don’t use such power cables on my EtherREGEN or it’s clock and related power supplies. I find that I am underwhelmed by fancy Ethernet cables and switches and whatever. Nothing copper is a step up from fiber optic cables for networking. I have tried this and that and the end result is little obvious sound improvement.

I find that when I have all of these cables in my system it’s like being in a blue moss cave filled with devious but charming hamsters with human teeth. That fresh blue moss vibe just gets me more in touch with my Spirit Animal, Steve.

Worth noting…thank you.
