I am looking forward to hearing about your experience with the Stealth Dream, and I hope you hate it with Preamp. That is the only cable I am thinking of replacing at this point.
What does a 1 to 2 meter Dragon Power Cable list for?
2M is $7900.
And the High Current version is $5500 for 1M ; $9900 for 2M âŚanyone have a spare
Attractively priced. Hopefully they come in a plush Dragon that you rip them out of like entrails while shouting YEEEESSSSSS!
Or trouble free cardboard. I know which one Iâm picking.
Like a Turducken of dragons?
Fantastic! Iâll take two, I like leftovers.
Friends donât let friends pay full price for cables! Even AQ Dragons!
Maybe 20/25% discount would be the best I found for Dragons here in Europe.
After getting Alâs cables on loan (Stealth Dream V18 and the Synergistic Research Altmosphere UEF Level 3 Analog and having the three Whispers the permutations are endless.
The SR cable is very quiet and balanced perhaps the quietest of any but unable at this point to play up to the Stealth Dream V18 Digital or the Whispers in any of the cable to cable comparisons or even versus my Foil Wrapped Core Power cables. Perhaps the story would change if I had its power supply block for insulation dielectric charging and ground block it would play differently. Though quiet it lacks the body of the stealth and whispers and ability to make things play 3D and the tone of whispers or the stealth. I do wish the Stealth V18 had the Universal configuration where it gives the best whether Digital/ Analog / or Power component matching. The one thing for certain @aangen knows his cables.
The SR Cable and the Stealth Dream did play better than the other cables except the Whisper on my Router LPS.
I did discover the Stealth Tuning Ring to be a Game Changer on the V18. Yes they focus the soundstage and make your music come alive.
Being curious I fabricated tuning rings for the Whispers out of 3M AB7050HF and found amazing results. Even better 3D space and Spatial imaging Currently the Stealth V18 tuned is the best cable to date for the MX150 Pre/Processor. Meanwhile Duncan has been tweaking his whispers and will be sending his latest Whisper iteration with more conductors, ground drain high frequency burn in, and a carbon shielding jacket once his R&D ends. He is working a possible elite line. He has been talking details of his trials on the HI Fi podcast. I look forward to testing it versus the Stealth V18 head to head versus the Whisper Elite. Then pursue Dragon/Whisper Elite/Stealth at P20. My system never sounded better than current configuration both 2 Channel and Home Theater.
Cables do matter. Tuned cables for RF even matter more. Thanks Duncan and Al.
Have you found the 3M tuning ring has more effect on one brand of PC than another? I tried the small ring (waiting for the new sheet so I can make bigger ones) on a Silnote Orion M1 PC connecting to the PST, and I did not hear much difference. I have similar experience with Stealth V10 as explained in other thread. Silnote uses triple shield design which may lessen the effect from absorbent. The size of the absorbent ring is probably the main factor, I guess.
I only used on whisper so far. I will make another and try on other brand cords starting with SR power cord and the Dragon HC. The thicker ones seem to have more effects on the whispers. Especially two inch ring with multiple circumferential wraps. It doesnât have to be too snug. But friction helps hold in place. There is a sweet spit on the power cords if it migrated you can notice thus being snug is best. You do have to play same 15 to 20 seconds of a song from listening position with each move of ring. Though it is not impossible to hear what it does closeup between speakers after you find the most impactful location just like absorber on the regenerator picking it off then laying it down. Sounds like someone is turning up the volume though it was untouched.
After reading this thread a few times, and plenty of emails to Duncan, Australia is about to receive its first Whisper. Itâs built and burning in. I am excited. A 50cm version for the Isotek Polaris, and for a future P3 upgrade. I reckon I can fiddle the set up enough to try it on the Innuos Zen, too. Something tells me this wonât be my last Whisper. I need to win the lottery.
Please fill us in on how it works for you. Whisperâs are a perfect option as good as they step up to play with the Stealth and Audioquest Dragons. The more Whispers the more pleasing I have found. Thus going to try my fourth soon or see if I need to buy a Stealth Dream or the elite incarnation of Whisper on my Preamp fills the bill in the sound realm I have become accustomed. I do like they can be tuned like the Stealth V18 to add body and rounded edges to the images . That was one of the things I was looking for when I started discussing the Whisper with Duncan.
Cable Sutra Position 8. We shall call this one. âThe Climbing Treeâ The Whisper Elite R&D cable Joins the three Whisper Mix as a tag team stand in. Maybe Climbing Three is more appropriate.
I have been talking cables with Duncan several months. The Elite started as a mad scientist experience after sharing thoughts of what I was hearing on the base Whisper and postulating how it might be changed Dr Tweak went to work. It received more silver conductors, more RF ground drain conductors, a amplified powered high watt high frequency ground burn in, a new RF outer carbon shield without foil or metal.
Duncan has been discussing his whisper tweak mods on the Hi Fi podcast with Darren and Duncan
The Elite arrived today and an email on where I should try it. It is a 15 amp so it is easily plugged into every slot.
The Climbing Tree Position is The Whisper Elite on my Routerâs LPS. Alâs Stealth Dream V18 LE on my Pre, the two base Whispers on my amps, a Signal cable Silver Resolution aL and Cu foil wrapped, and the DS has the Core Power doble foil wrapped Diamon XTreme. I decided only to replace one cable at a time then start the three Whispers and Whisper Elite trials. I have a baseline sound in the 3 base whispers configuration.
So what did I find?
The whisper elite really really drops noise floor and doesnât add just high frequency unbalanced details. The soundstage stage has grown in width , height and depth. Good recordings and lower quality recordings increase in fidelity equally. More micro details do not destroy the Prat and toe tapping. Songs i know well and others I have heard and added to my library at least every forth song I play, the music is so new and vibrant that i find myself getting goose bumps, and it results in a charged listening session. The goose bumps align with Duncan telling me during development that this Elite is just plain Spooky. Yep that nails it. It is like it released hidden Spirits in which have endured years of being locked away, Have just now come out to happily haunt your room, ears and brain.
The Muddy Waters My home is on the Delta. Oh my you can hear string bending over fret rib and scratching on the board. Fricking amazing. The intro on BB king live at Cook County jail. Every inmate is heard and lady on PA announcing the king ever so much more clearer. Not a bit irritating all natural. Even PA fedbackjust added to ambience in non irritating manner
I decided to listen to this Cash Recording made in a Bar in SF after San Quentin concert. It was made by Bear the Soundman for the Dead. Imperfect in that Johnny is not locked to center. But a perfectly imperfect recording down to the hippies at the Carousel.
Last but not least the Whisper Elite can have its RF resonance frequency tuned with a AB7050HF absorption tuning ring.
What a cable the Elite that Duncan has cooked up! No cable touched the base Whisper on my Router until the Elite. Another home brewed cable winner!
I canât wait to see how Elite does elsewhere in my system including the P20 Dragon slot.
Very nice!
Are you able to share photos?
Thanks!
Nothing much to see.
The Elite is by no means an exotic donkey snake. I am sure it could be dressed up with conduits and coverings. Currently it is a R&D early production of more modest look than the Whisper especially with the my make shift absorber RF Resonance tuning ring tweak temp installed on both:not at all helping looks. The Elite is a giant killer of a cable sonically.
Last night also caught a streamed movie using the Whisper Elite version. I was getting the vividness, startling impactful sound in explosions or gunshots I had experienced with the Whisper running the P20 prior to returning to my Dragon High Current cable.
I went back and reread post last night on audio experience and had to edit it.
I will post correction here so those interested do not have to backtrack.

What comes to mind is that silver foil might provide further benefits for RF grounding. Now Iâm talking about a foil conductor, not a foil shield. Itâs easier to lower RF impedance with a foilâs large surface area than with wires. Of course it requires some clever planning on how to position a relatively wide foil inside a cable but really I donât see why it couldnât even run externally. Maybe insulated with teflon tape.
Just a thought.
That sounds costly if one used silver foil wrap unless one criss crossed silver foil. Then Strips Foul similar to the wires Duncan uses but that sounds fragile and twisty experience to work with.
Silver foil is certainly costly. I guess copper foil is fine, since the RF impedance would be more the surface areaâs benefit than the materialâs.
