CD players, Power Plants, Muliti-Wave: Bad Idea?

Recently purchased a new CD player having been without one for quite a period. It was connected like the rest of my source gear running though a P500 Power Plant using Multi-Wave. The component sounds fine but the transport does make a chattering noise that can be heard clear across the room at some 12-15 feet away. It occurred to me last night that perhaps the transport motors do not get along with MW technology. So I then plugged it into a passive conditioner and now the transport is much quieter.

Does this makes sense to you experts at PS Audio? Is this typical?

Thanks
