You can’t imagine how I’m scared until the system will be back switched on! Thanks.
if something goes wrong, I will also deny myself the evidence, you can be sure!

THANK YOU SO MUCH David! Sometimes I feel like a kid the night before exams.
Guess what? I’m enjoying so much this effort and the “risk” is part of the excitement!
Just missing my system (never happened, an entire week without music). Thank you for your kind support.
Certainly can understand what it is like to be a kid the night before exams…
but in your case with your degree of preparation planning and analysis…
So relax …tranquilo compadre…no worries
Opening Night will be A GRAND OPENING GALA night…
I wish I could see your face on your system’s opening performance!!!
It will an experience you will certainly enjoy and remember for a long time to come!!!
Best wishes
Luca Labs: where everything goes, except the best sounds!
Have fun and don’t worry.
Hi Luca, have you ever auditioned Gold Note Speakers or toured their facility? They look like a great company. Btw I ordered the Pink Faun usb and Ethernet cable from Jord. Should have them Monday
I had several emails with Maurizio Aterini, the owner. I own this:
and the Donatello Gold cartridge.
If I had to upgrade my stellar phono pre I’d probably go for the PH-1000, I listened to it at my dealer shop last year. Clean, impressive and maybe a little bit analytical to my taste. But I’m turning from a vinyl into a streaming guy (members here are the culprits of this metamorphosis). Never had the opportunity to visit the factory but I know very well that part of Tuscany, really amazing!
Congrats for your Pink Faun purchase, very curious to know your thoughts about the USB in particular (my ethernet cable is still in a box unfortunately).
Wow, your turntable looks awesome and must sound great. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail is very impressive. Yes I will let you know how much better the usb is to my Transparent premium usb is. I will be swapping out my Transparent Ethernet as well. I should just change out the usb first to see the difference but I’m hearing it takes like 400 to 500 hours to fully appreciate the cable so I will Probably going to do both at the same time.
Ah ah ah, thanks Nick!
I liked it just out of the box but I suggest to be patient, it really shines after almost 2 or 3 weeks. It sounds so smooth and warm, really realistic and intimate that I can call it “analog”.
The magnetic removable panels is awesome. I found ditching sidewall diffusers works for close sidewalls the diffuser panels smeared things though better than nothing.
Inspired by your post I ordered a different set of feet to try under my speakers . . . very cheap but nicely made with ceramic balls via ebay.
They arrived today and I have to admit that they enable a very nice presentation with great bass and a more laid back presentation than the VooDoo IsoPods and Herbie’s Audio Lab Iso-Cups I had been using, and I’m leaving them in place for further listening.
Very nice! I’m glad you enjoy these! I’m still exploring different isolation devices myself!
Well, I received these today. They are stainless steel pads that are used for my audio rack. They surely look nicer than the ones there now. I just cannot say I heard a difference.
The Gold Note gear has my attention. My new Stressless chair arrives this Wednesday. I was thinking of building an entirely new system around and in honor of the chair. I could get rid of all of my electronics, but keep all my cables. I could get all Gold Note gear and a nice midline pair of Estelons.
I’ll keep the BACCH-SP though. And the P20 probably.
Great project Al, let me see a pic of you chair model/color. Gold Note wooden craft TTs are really wonderful even paired with Sonus faber wooden speakers. Just looking at cosmetic synergies.
How many systems in how many rooms are you planning to build? An analog room + a digital room? Depending on evening mood. This could require a lot of cables, a dream!
You are my hero!
I was just thinking of replacing my main system. All the gear is almost six months old now. Sheesh.
while you are at it, GIVE me your defunct 6-month old system
Still working after all this time?!?!
There’s something in the air, maybe it’s Spring. Last night I was thinking about selling everything and getting an integrated. Something like a CH Precision’s I1 or a Audionet Humbolt.
