One of my stepsons, who lives in Mountain View, was due to meet us in New Orleans with his family but cancelled about 10 days ago. Having followed his Twitter feed, which is highly alarmist. I was not surprised. He works for Google, so he was a week ahead of their advisory against travel by employees.

- medical personnel only to stay at home in case of respiratory problems and fever
- now remarkable is: schools stay open, and there is a good reason, in case schools officially close, medical personnel will be forced to stay home and look after the children, however schools expect to change their focus from educational purpose to assisting keeping the wheels turning as good as possible, a smart move, figures have shown that schools are the least vulnerable place, as house mates / children of positive diagnosed parents are expected to fulfill the quarantine and should not go to school as long as the have any health issue.
- any event involving more than 100 people is expected to be cancelled or limited to 100 keeping in mind all other safety precautions, sufficiĆ«nt distance, donāt show up when you donāt feel well, wash your hands, do not shake hands, cough in your elbows not in your hand in case you feel en itch, use paper handkerchieves only once and immediately bin them.
Netherlands do not ban pass through travellers, which is a good thing as everybody should get the opportunity to get home where is the best place to deal with this situation.
Obviously additional measures are not precluded for the future. Main goal is to keep as many wheels turning as possible and ensure that the virus spread is delayed such that medical capacity will not be overwhelmed.

Just making an area comparison showing the small size of the EU countries. When my wife was there she said a lot of them were smaller than counties here in the US. She spent a month there in the late '70ās and was amazed at all of the cultural differences just a few km apart.
Aināt that the truth. Genetic mutations are starting to outnumber the normal ones in some areas.

Well, I CERTAINLY agree with you that music is nowhere near the mainstream it should be, and once was (so sadā¦), BUT sports do fill an important piece for a lot of peoples lives. I get a thrill hearing a soaring guitar soloā¦and I get an equal (but different) thrill watching the Seahawks score a touchdown. YMMV

Was supposed to go tonight to the Detroit Symphony with Leonard Slatkin conducting Carmina Burana, but it got canceled around 3 PM today. Damn ā¦ Have several other concerts coming up that will likely be canceled too. Good thing I have plenty of music here to listen to.
