I am new.I just purchased a Stellar Gold DAC. I hook up my CD Transport and sounds great via i2s. I also used the coaxial line to compare them. The i2s sounds better. Getting bored, well there is more. The coaxial input has a green dot in display with the kHz and the bit rate. The i2s has a red dote and no information.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Has anyone got and fixes or help.
The Transport is a SMSL VMV T2. I have reset it to reverse, no change. I bought a good cable from Ricable, Supreme. It is from Italy. It cost about $125.
It would be nice if I had all information about my input.
I compared the connection points from PS Audio to my Transport. They are close. But I do get music and it sounds better the coaxial. Transport has no USB out.
This may be a cable issue. PS Audio devised their own method for connecting a transport to a DAC via I2S; this arrangement of wires is referred to as a pinout. I purchased a Tubulus Concentus I2S cable which was intended to follow the PSA pinout, and it has all the wires needed for music. In the first version, the manufacturer did not realize that they needed to include one additional wire which shows that there is a good connection between the transport and the DAC via I2S (they have fixed this in the current version). So I get the red dot on my DSD MK 2, but the music plays just fine.
I would check with the manufacturer and make sure that they are including this connection (as I recall it’s pin 19, but that’s from a long time ago).
