Tonally it can be OK (and even just right) because Mark has carefully tuned the system around it, but certain major compromises are unavoidable with this type of wire. The ear is very sensitive to arrival phasing of a sound deviating across its spectrum, this is why having a more linearly aligned curve for the signal’s propagation velocity is so important.
