Recently Sonicorbiter was updated with the drivers for Direct DSD for more DACs, and so I tried sending Direct DSD to the Stellar DAC (upsampled from Audirvana) from Ultrarendu over USB and there is a significant SQ improvement. Sounds equivalent to a power supply upgrade, like a new DAC!
Has anyone else confirmed that Direct DSD over USB works ?
I tested DSD64, DSD128, DSD256, and DSD512. Everything works but 512, that one shows up as PCM 384 and is jacked up. The ESS chip is rated for DSD256 curiously. DSD256 ran but DSD128 showed on the screen.
