I also use an opticalRendu and haven’t really experienced this, although I have had issues on occasion. The important difference, maybe, is I played into a matrix and now ultraDigital to convert usb to I2S. The Rendu showed the matrix and now ultraDigital as the DAC since I2S doesn’t communicate back.
