What do you mean your DAC lasts only two days?
What does it do or not do?
Is the issue that the sound changes?
My dac will sound harsh and edgy. It clears with reboot with power off for 60 seconds and then power on at toggle switch at the back of the dac. It has been this way for a long time
My sound is back to excellent now after a 60 seconds power off and then back on(reboot) and perhaps 20 minutes play.
I find it odd it changes to this degree.
I do not recall in this thread, but have you tried installing a different firmware, use the DAC for a few days, and see if this solves it?
I don’t know how to change the firmware. How do I do that? Do I need a chip to install in the back of the dac?

I have no idea what to do with the downloads. Could I get a firmware card to install in my dac from PS Audio?
At one time you could purchase the downloads on an SD card.
I recommend that you reach out to customer service when the office opens up after the holidays and let them know about your issue and discuss download options.

I remember having this exact problem in 2015 when I added a Teddy Pardo 12 vdc power supply to the analogue board, after the process of elimination, the Teddy Pardo was the cause and trying to turn on/off both units at the same time.
After which I installed 100, 200, and 300 watts HDPlex lps without this issue.
I also tried the Zero Zone as recommended by JK Richards, worked without any problems, but kept the 300 watts HDPlex which is more enjoyable for me.
I am not sure how yours is wired up. I found the most easy and problem free, instead of turning the dac and psu simultaneously, I installed a 120 vac relay in parallel to the dac rear switch and have the relay open/close the external 12vdc.
The rear switch now turns on/off the dac and external 12vdc together.
That’s interesting. I actually had this issue before my modification. The sound I am getting now is so awesome that it is worth the reboots. I rebooted a couple of hours ago and now the sound is orgasmic and I am not drunk or high.
Perhaps restarting the Keces P3 LPS after powering down the dac might help as a new different LPS doesn’t seem realistic at this time. Perhaps it is the Keces LPS but I must admit that the dac sounds very nice between reboot.
Not sure this is applicable to your DAC b/c I don’t know which modifications you have.
IF you have the analogue power supply board/card installed, Mr. Richards’s explicit instructions that came with my board were that the power on/off sequence is/must be:
On:
Power on analogue board power supply first, then turn on the main PSA power switch.
Off:
Power off the main PSA power switch first, then turn off the analogue board power supply.

In another thread, you indicated it is a power supply issue. Can you elaborate here?
A member of the forum claimed to have the same problem as me and he resolved it with another power supply. Also I emailed Jeff from APS Transformers and he said that it was a power supply issue.

Resolving this has been a long-term issue for you.
I’m still working on a resolution. According to Jeff APS Audio Transformers the solution is a further upgrade to the dac which I can’t afford. I am keeping a close watch between rebooting. My last reboot was good for 50 hours and then the sound went way off. I am currently 24 hours since the most recent reboot and the sound is still very good. I am wondering if the sound going off is a result of hash noise in the ac grid and I am going to try to wait out the next time the sound goes off to see if it is just ac noise. If when the sound goes off it doesn’t come back to normal after several hours then I will know that it is the dac and not the ac grid being noisy. The thing is that my best sound is 24 to 36 hours after reboot and every time I reboot I set the dac back to zero. I hope to figure this out soon. Apparently there are others who require frequent reboots and it seems to fix the problem. It would be nice if the dac fixes itself with time and clean ac. I will find out. Worst case I will need to reboot frequently. I don’t want to keep investing money into this dac. I would rather just get a new dac eventually.

I’m getting some good sound 26 hours still working well. It seems to go for about 48 hours without needing a reboot. The sound is quite good!!
Jeff from APS Audio just emailed me that they no longer use external power supplies because they have other people with issues like mine. I am not alone apparently. I think the sound that I am getting is spectacular and if it requires that I reboot every couple of days then so be it. It’s not that hard to reboot and it only takes about a minute. The sound is back to normal after a few hours but it sounds good almost immediately.
Does anyone else experience all of this? Over the years on this forum I’ve not yet heard from anyone else with this issue on this forum. Is what I am experiencing rare or common? Do others require a reboot every day or two?
