My DSD mk1 APS modded likes reboot every 2 days

My DSD mk1 APS modded dac likes to be rebooted every couple of days for best sound. ChatGBT says that this is normal. Does anyone else notice this. I know a lot of people power down their dacs overnight when not listening but I keep mine on 24/7. I find that after 2 days use that my fully modded APS DSD mk1 sounds much better after being powered down by the power switch at the back of the dac for 30 seconds. I have easy access to the power switch but is it common for a Mk1or even a Mk2 to be better sounding if rebooted every couple of days?

My dac sounds very good and I was told by Ted Smith that what I am experiencing is normal and that rebooting the dac every few days is like demagnetizing it or “degaussing” it.

It certainly doesn’t hurt to power cycle the DAC for a few seconds every other day. I haven’t tried it, but I’ll give it a shot.

My Dac DSD mk1 sounds way better with frequent reboots(every couple of days). My research shows me that this is a common quirk with the mk1 dacs. It seems like I am the only one complaining. The fix is easy with a power down for 30 seconds at the power toggle switch at the back of the Dac. I have mentioned this quirk before but it appears that I am one of the unlucky ones as not many people have complained. I noticed this quirk before I did the APS modds and Ted Smith on a few occasions via PM has explained this quirk a known issue with the MK1’s. Anyone else notice this?

All that complaining aside the DSD mk1 APS modded dac sounds pretty good. It doesn’t sound bad after a couple of days but after a 30 second power down the dac really shines for a couple of days. The sound is worth the quirk.
