Does Anyone Like the Bridge II?

I like mine too

Compared to what, is what springs to mind. Mostly always found it unmusical and unlistenable-ish.

Yes I like mine. I compared it to the Sonore opticalRendu and ended up keeping my Bridge II card. The opticalRendu was very nice but not nice enough for me to replace my Bridge card.

Itā€™s good for what it is, a streamer on a network card sharing the power supply of the DS. It can be easily bettered by any of the dedicated streamers in the $1500-$2500 that have their own multiple power supplies. From units like the PTS that Al uses to ones like the Aries G1, the Lumin U1 Mini, the Innuos Zen Mk III, Teac NT-505 or the Aurrender N-100. But for a ā€œcompetentā€ streaming mechanism that saves on space it works.

So many bad days this week for you.

Did you see the Positive Feedback review of the new Euphony streamer based on the i7 processor? Arthur told me it was coming months ago and the review is up even before he has it listed. Higher price than yours at $2500.

I did read the review, it sounds like a great piece. Iā€™m still very pleased with my early version. I hope someone here gives the new one a try.

Sounds perfect for the HQ Player crowd.

Exactly. One of the reasons I will likely stay with my existing setup is I donā€™t HQ Playerā€¦

Same here as the G1 does everything I need and sounds great.

I was going to get all huffy, steamed, incredulous, livid and replete with righteous indignation, but you used the word nincompoop; all is well.

My post was satire of general internet discussion forum egotism :innocent:

I use a USB connection and am happy.

If you are not using the Ethernet card, remove it. For me, the unit sounded a tad betterā€¦ I don;t know why.

Lumin U1 Mini with SBooster LPS via USB. Bridge II out of DS DAC.

Bridge II is good, Lumin better, IMO.

Compared with a NUC running AudioLinux and Roon (endpoint only), I prefer the sound of the NUC. However, if I had to go back to the Bridge II, I would not be unhappy. It is less sensitive to noise in the power lines than the NUC, and I really miss being able to skip tracks, pause, etc. with the remote that came with the DS Sr. You lose some remote functionality when you go from Bridge II to a different endpoint.

Ditto here, U1 Mini outperformed the Bridge II in my system.

A lot of other cheaper solution beats Bridge IIā€¦

Like what? I just got a used (NIB) Bridge II for $475 shipped. Hard to imagine something better SQ for less money.

Bridge II goes evaluated only as part of the PSA dacā€¦ā€¦so canā€™t be judged separately. I moved to an RME ADI-2 dac with SOtM 200Neo streamer and find to be more musical than my former DSjr I had.
