Ever heard of Marten speakers?

I got a brief chance to listen to speakers that I never heard of yesterday. Marten “Coltrane3”, powered by VTL monoblocks, preamp, MSB digital. I only had 30 minutes to listen but wow, were they nice.

My brothers neighbor has the Parker Trios, without the diamond tweeter option, with the small FM Acoustic monoblocks

Heard it twice. Wonderful both times!

I’ve been a big fan of Marten speakers for some time.

I never heard of them before. The sound was really hard to find faults with and the quality of construction reminded me of Sonus Faber or Riva boats.

George at Kyomi was a Marten dealer. Now Jaime at Audio Experience is our local Marten dealer.

When I heard them with Al at Kyomi I wasn’t that impressed but the MBL’s were in the other room so the bar was set high. George still has a pair of Marten’s and we heard them connected to a Diablo 333 and that wasn’t too bad Axpona week @adifferentpaul was there also.

IME Martens do very well with clean tube gear, like Zesto.

As always, If I like it, RonP hates it. If he likes it, I hate it. Martens are in the not useful to me category. They do nothing for me at all. Could be a predisposition sorta thing.

How about Rose’?

As in wine? Put a glass of wine in front of me and I will enjoy it. Purchase it? Study it, worship it? Not me. In fact, alcohol is largely in my past.
(Except Margaritas) (I mean, Margaritas!!!)

I love your company though! I am a hard core RonP fan!

The rules apply only to audio gear. Oddly enough, Wilson speakers included.
