If anybody’s interested, I’ll be competing in the Midwestaudiofest in Dayton, OH, put on by Parts Express. Don’t know if I have a chance to win, but…who knows? It’s on August 5th and 6th.
Keep rockin, and slinging solder,

That sounds like great fun .
Good luck!
Forgive my ignorance, what is the competition?
Speaker design and building. They hold it every year, but haven’t for the last two because of Covid. I was in it once before with the JP Stacks. You can still see the video of that on Youtube. Do a search on Youtube for JP Stacks. Lots of fun, and lots of fellow geeks. The contest website is: Midwestaudiofest.com. Check it out. They let other folks come to see the contest too.
Contestingly,
Mongo
My latest build is called the JP Carmel Obelisks.
You will have to send a link or post some pics.
It’s coming up. I am really interested in seeing some pics from @Mongo.
The category I compete in is on Friday. Make a mad dash to Dayton…be there by 7 PM…and you could hear the JP Carmel Obelisks! Not real sure how to post pics in here. Give me a primer, and I’ll try. In some ways, I’m a bit of a Luddite. The contest has 4 categories. 3 of them are on Saturday, when they announce the winners. For anybody that is within easy driving distance of Dayton, OH, it’s a lot of fun, and you could meet your favorite smartass…ol Mongo!
Rockandrollingly,
Mongo
Good luck!

From your phone select the icon I highlighted below:
Thanks for the tips, but I’m still confused. My browser doesn’t have those symbols at the top. I use Firefox. I have several pics from the contest to post. I didn’t win, but I had fun, and managed to impress quite a few people. I did win a door prize - a 15" subwoofer driver, that I may never use. Dayton. I took the pics with my digital SLR to an SD card. Will post pics when I can figure it out, or get help to.
Notdisappointedly,
Mongo
If you are using a computer posting pictures is easy. The pics need to be on your computer and in an acceptable format (jpeg works for sure).
When you start a post just drag and drop the pictures to the open post and they will magically transfer and appear in the post.
Be careful where the cursor is or the pictures will break into a sentence if that’s where the cursor happens to be.
There may also be a limit on the file size but I haven’t ever run into it.
Hope this helps.
Vern
Pictures are limited to 4 MB. But please do not post pictures this big as not everyone has a fast connection.
Get on Youtube, and do a search for 2022 Parts Express speaker design competition, to see my entry of the JP Obelisks. Do another search for 2023 Parts Express speaker design competition, to see my entry of the JP Cubit Spires. Won Fan Favorite for these. Working on next year’s entry.
busily,
Mongo
Forgot. The category I was entered in, in 2022, was Open Unlimited. In 2023, Over 300 dollars.
