When listening to SACD through PMG SACD and 512, I heard what GCE can do. The power cords were applied by GCH two days ago, and XLR was applied this morning. The sound is faster and very clean, and there is a better bass definition. My system has always sounded very clean and smooth, and GCE seems to make it a bit too smooth for my taste.
But in a different system the GCE may make a bigger and welcome improvement than mine. So, it does make a little difference in SQ. The improvement is very subtle, and it took a few hours for me to understand what I was hearing, and I only heard the difference on playing discs, nothing different on streaming.
Perception is reality. If you perceive an improvement and it’s repeatable that’s all that matters.
There are details I have left out about my Kii studies at Axpona.
Normal hotel room, zero room treatments. 2 dollar power cables going into the wall. Hotel power, no treatment. On the desk, a small WIIM streamer. Using hotel Wi-Fi. Only source is Qobuz. No fancy cables anywhere. How did it even work? And it sounded like BACCH crosstalk cancellation was being used. But it wasn’t. Soundstage way beyond the walls. Depth seemed unlimited. 100% black background. None more black.
I asked about the WIIM and was told they just wanted to demonstrate that even with a meager source, they still sound as they do.
Then I asked him to switch to the Sevens, he said sure and explained the Sevens were connected by Wi-Fi to his phone. He showed me the family friendly App and suggested the family might enjoy the Sevens. He played the same track. My jaw dropped. The Sevens give up very little to the 3BXTs. Not much at all.
I believe a guy with a pair of Sevens and a WIIM Streamer would hear much better sound than most of us.

Our PGE bill is a lot higher this month too, but we were on vacation for 10 days. So I guess we need to take more vacation to save energy.
I sold my NA Muon Pro Steaming cable in one day. What do I do with the money? It is not enough for another Stealth for sure, maybe a fuse? Nah, I will put it in the stock market. It has gone crazy lately, again.

Well, I just don’t have a place to put it and that was why I sold the MP cable. But I thought you’re keeping one, no?
That makes sense. Yeah, I have a Stealth Ethernet cable. The second one was an extra and moved it for the same reason. I will be playing with a couple uber filter/switch systems next month that have new cables as well ($$$). Nothing has unseated the Stealth yet, but always willing to give the new kids a try.
I am sure you will let us know how great the newest and pricier filter/switch/cable will do.
Luckily I am in the position to do major upgrades too.
Wait, my upgrades supposedly go to more vacations and daughter’s 2nd Master degree. But if there are a bunch of great reviews on the next greatest audio tweak ever, Will I break my own promise that I am done?@Palouse is still laughing hard on my last promise.
