Rabbit’s long ears serve to tell the quality of the sound system

That’s it ASR needs bunny rabbits to help them out over there

Hmmm perhaps bunnies are golden ears ![]()
To get serious about rabbits for a moment, over here “rabbit” means someone who talks a bit too much, as in “doesn’t he rabbit on?”. Cockney rhyming slang: rabbit + pork = talk. It was also the title of a truly great song by Chas & Dave on that very subject.
The other great rabbit song took the alternative vernacular route, from the wonderful Magnetic Fields’ triple album, 69 Love Songs. The lyrics need to be appreciated in full.
If you knew how I long
For you now that you’re gone
You’d grow wings and fly
Home to me
Home tonight
And in the morning sun
Let’s pretend we’re bunny rabbits
Let’s do it all day long
Let abbots, Babbitts and Cabots
Say mother nature’s wrong
And when we’ve had a couple of beers
We’ll put on bunny suits
I long to nibble your ears
And do as bunnies do
Let’s pretend we’re bunny rabbits
Let’s do it all day long
[Rapidly becoming rabid
Singing little rabbit songs
I can keep it up all night
I can keep it up all day
Let’s pretend we’re bunny rabbits
Until we pass away
Let’s pretend we’re bunny rabbits
Until we pass away
Some of this album was used in a fabulous dance piece called Schmetterling by Nederlands Dance Theatre.
You don’t get these useless cultural insights at ASR either. We need a rabbit thread.
If they ever were to build something on that scale, it could very well require a 30amp dedicated outlet, but it’s a nice thought though.
Wondered about that…
Amir/ASR’s motivation seems irrelevant in that data was produced which shows great inadequacies in the Regenerator.
I’m probably standing alone… in saying PS Audio needs to do better in a rebuttal. A rebuttal using the unit under test as a test instrument looks sad.
The ASR’s follow-up video is a very convincing piece. Especially starting at 10:30 mark. Amir’s test showing an outlet strip has lower impedance than the Regenerator under test is a palm slap to the forehead.
ASR is the site is non-commercial, similar to this site there is no advertising. Hard to find an axe to grind against PS Audio for unaligned readers.
I’m also involved in cars and aviation. Same tribal huddling happens there as well. Sometimes facts be damned… the other people are just heretics or Druids.
PS Audio wave-off has harmed their reputation, it has for me.
P.S. - BTW GM said the same thing about Consumer Reports car reviews in the 1980’s. CR’s quality reports were biased to Japanese for stated quality over GM. Ha!
Let’s not forget that Amir Majidimehr is responsible for the debacle that was Microsoft’s DRM, and as much as he and others harp on the disingenuousness of some manufacturers, he himself is not so altruistic:
… Just before me was the opening keynote, from Microsoft’s Amir Majidimehr, Corporate VP of the Windows Digital Media Division, which oversees licensing and deployment of Microsoft’s DRM.
Amir’s presentation kept referring to Microsoft DRM as “open,” which was curious, because it’s actually the opposite of open. …
The bombshell was Amir’s explanation of the reason that his employer charges fees to license its DRM. According to Amir, the fee is not intended to recoup the expenses Microsoft incurred in developing their DRM, or to turn a profit. The intention is to reduce the number of licensors to a manageable level, to lock out “hobbyists” and other entities that Microsoft doesn’t want to have to trouble itself with.
@dancingsea As stated earlier, to compare the 9801 to a high current regenerator is rather puzzling, since the 9801 is limited to 3 amp max output. The 9801 looks real good and all, can’t use it for anything, but it sure looks good… You’ld have to pony up $7800.00 for a 9833 to get close to 30 amp peak, and it’s noise floor isn’t as stellar. Precision power supplies like those from BK deal really well with constant current requirements, but are no so capable of large instantaneous peaks as does those regenerators produced for the audio market, which can get well past the 30 amp max draw from even the 9833.
I went ahead and moved my MC462 amp to the wall outlet and geez what have I been missing? It sounded more musical, woodwind instrument are more extended, bass more bodied. With P15 HC defonately dryer presentation.
Before the stampede, I know what I heard, so please don’t tell me otherwise. Will need now to verify HC vs non HC.
That’s fine…no worries…there will be times it turns out that way.
Remember it is all about how best does both it works and sounds
for you in your environment…
Am happy for you that your Mac prefers a straight to wall
connection…
Happy listening!!
Best wishes!!
Another reminder: No name calling, labeling of others, trolling.
Being opinionated and disagreeing is fine. The cheap shots are not.
@dancingsea 's post should not flag as inappropriate. He said nothing inappropriate and was accurate. If the company wants to delete his post or use their editorial judgment to mask the content is their choice. It further degrades the company’s image.
Many people have shared reasonable thoughts to help. It’s all ignored. The more this is ignored to more guilty the company appears. Waiting for the storm to blow over might be a strategy, but many will take Paul and company less seriously going forward.
This is a more critical juncture for the company than many might realize.
The hardware is why were are here, to then have an opportunity to enjoy the music. It’s a nice sentiment to just “move on”, but the company’s ethics are called into question. That’s why the silence is go self confirming to many.
His post became inappropriate and worthy of being flagged imo when he said that Paul was “either incompetent or a con artist.”
It’s a perception people could have given the allegations the data sheet specs are phony and the lack forceful proof of the data the company reports.
The full quote is “This is a bad look for PS Audio. Either Paul is incompetent, or he is a con artist.”
I wouldn’t have used those words, but the company has bungled the response - which is what he was passionately saying.
Personally I am here for the music.
When things get heated it may be time to take a pause and rethink what this is all about. The components and equipment are all about a means to enjoy the music, not a basis for argument. Those that may come here to make a purchase decision are free to read the forum threads and come to their own conclusions. PSA has always held their cards close, look at the product descriptions, associated manuals, and terms of sale on their website. It does not tell you much. Typical for the industry IME. I have no dog in this fight, and I have no PSA equipment in my house. I should add I missed what DancingSea posted, but that’s a different matter. Must have ruffled a feather or two. 'Nuff said, Jed.
So I will return to my listening session:
Agreed @ELK.
I disagree, but respect your opinion/concern.
He said (wrote) it. Post was flagged. What’s the issue/question?
