Just downloaded the album Undercurrent by Bill Evans and Jim Hall. If you know Bill Evans’ or Jim Hall’s work, you will notice that both are playing differently here than on their other recordings. And the sound quality is so revealing of every note. The two renditions (one an alternate take) of “My Funny Valentine” - very different from each other - demonstrate that these guys undoubtedly have some classical chops! When I bought it, I assumed since it’s just piano and guitar, it wouldn’t be a big challenge for a sound system, but the way it was recorded definitely makes this come alive in high-end audio.
