How To Replace Binding Post on McIntosh MC207 Amp

Looking to upgrade the binding posts on my McIntosh MC207 amp. It doesn’t appear to be difficult but would appreciate any suggestions or tips.

Link below illustrates the binding posts on my amp.

If it were me, I would not do it as it would ruin the resale value of your investment with very little if any gain. What do you expect to achieve and what are youjr cables and speakers?

Reason for changing is that some of the plastic lugs are worn and 1 is cracked.

My speakers are Von Schweikert VR-5 Anniversary MK II Front L/R, LCR-35 Center, VR-1 Rear L/R Sub: JL Audio F113

Cables are Wireworld.

The pic above is not my actual amp.

Those look like the pretty standard OEM Vampire BP-3 binding posts from that era. If you just want new ones to keep the amp factory standard they have them at Parts Connexion and Douglas Connectors. Fairly simple removal and replacement with the same. Some soldering required.

Paul, I used to service McIntosh and would recommend replacement in kind and not upgrade them. As has been mentioned they are readily available and are not difficult to replace.
