If I purchased a DSD file, what will it need to play?

Ok, I see DSD file for sale, If I buy one, I just drop it on my NAS and my DAC or Computer will play it and send it to my DAC, or I need a I2S [I square] to play it?

how does it work?

How do I transfer it to a CD?

DSD files can be played back on various machines of various prices. I have a Grimm MU2, which can play dsd files from its own internal hard drive or from a usb flash drive connected to the usb type A port. This is just one example. I’m sure ai can recommend other devices that can play dsd files.

My Eversolo DMP A8 will handle DSD from onboard storage or fed from an external source but I’ve only begun to dabble in DSD playback.

A no cost way to get a started is to download Foobar 2000 to a computer and run that into a DAC that will decode DSD.

for computer, is there a way to stop app, to mess up with art cover? and my stored music?

Each time, I had try one, first thing, it change art cover, and split album

I just want something that play what I have, like WMP 12 was, before december 2025

I don’t know. Very few of my DSD downloads or rips found album art and metadata. I’ve attempted to fix but have not been successful and it hasn’t been a priority.

Well, I use the Nero CD ripper with Gracenote included, renting is 12$ per years, so it gave me the time to rip, all my 1500 CD. Gracenote is very reliable for metadata!

Surprise, I discover that I had SACD [10 of them], but it rip only the CD layer (I will listen them on my Universal Pioneer Player!).

I encounter my first unretrievable CD today with Nero: the Nancy Wilson, Guess who I saw today [because of software added in it].

I don’t know any SACD ripper for now!

but Nero work well for Flac and wave [no convenient, for art cover and metadata, that are in a separate file]. Nero offer also to rip mp3 all Aple format to!

[I also use another Nero product, the Nero 365, to rip my Music DVD show to flac file]

So now, I rip in Flac, since my Wave rip fail when Fu200, Flex, etc, and so far, all software that, always try to fix my metadata (it is a mess).

The way I found to improve it: is Azon unlimited, when you put the app on computer, it just ad your music in it, and by doing that, the algorithm, improve super duper and when you push “my soundtrack” in Azon, it propose music based on your collection and your like and Added music in Azon, and it Stream HiRes to my setup.

So far, it’s Azon that mess the less my database metadata and provide HiRes listening with all my device!

but would be cool, in I could rip my SACD in HiRes!
