I have a question and, being armed with just enough knowledge to be dangerous, I thought I’d ask for opinions here.
Specs on the Stellar say that the MM input has an 8 dB better S/N ratio than the MC input. My current setup uses MC at the high sensitivity of 72 dB. Would I be able to gain any benefit in overall system S/N ratio by using an appropriately designed and supremely high quality MC step up transformer to raise the MC output by, say, 22 dB or so and running the Stellar on the MM input at the 50 dB sensitivity setting?
Your thoughts?
