Thank-you for sharing, I picked up two of the three from 2023 RSD, should have purchased the Shirley Scott as well.
I have yet to listen to them as I over did it a bit between Axpona and RSD LP purchases, so no comment on the recordings. Hopefully there will be more Left Bank releases.

“Surrender to Steely Dan”

A good read, IMO.

A good read, agreed, and some fine music.

If I HAD to pick a favorite, I would pick Steely Dan.

This article straddles the line between humor and informative. The point about “classical” music being a static, sedate form of enjoyment is perplexing. I will sit in the audience and find myself taken up by the music, the beat, the musicians, the effects of the venue on the sound, the overall experience and so much more. Isn’t that why audiophiles Quixotically strive to find that Nirvana that will give them that same experience at home?
The recent “event” at the LA Philharmonic is not the only time music and sex have been “intertwined”, so to speak. Anyone old enough to remember the Movie “10” with Dudley Moore and Bo Derek would undoubtedly remember Ravel’s “Bolero” underpinning the main premise of the film.
As for Bugs Bunny, all I have to say is “Kill Da Rabbit” is still up there in my top musical influences from childhood.
