Vinyl rule!

Dynamic pricing, apparently on most online big player, they are doing dynamic pricing!

So if your purchasing Jazz record, the price will be higher for you, than your friend that purchase Rock record. With your membership and account, they have your profil and that way, they could maximise there revenu with you!

So if you have a Wishlist with full of item, those categories will increase there price, since you are more enclin to purchase them.

It like an airline ticket, the more you go, the demand is higher, so price will increase.

In some food online food store, it is a practice implemented, so you buy in the morning, it will be cheaper, that placing your order a 4pm.

Dynamic pricing online

I swear this happens to Amazon Prime Video’s. If I randomly browse movies, almost all of them are free. If I do a search for a specific movie, I have to buy or rent it.

I occasionally check the same item online and then check it again on a different computer (usually a Debian box) with a VPN and various geo locations.

Trophies!:sunny:

With respect, I don’t know if it allowed, but here the google translation from both Diapason article and link to read original french version. Hope it help?

PS AUDIO STELLAR STRATA All-in-One: Impressive scale, beautiful soundstage, beautiful musical presentation.

PS AUDIO STELLAR STRATA All-in-One

It couldn’t be simpler: two sheets of aluminum separated by a black line, an LED screen and an aluminum button on one side, a blue illuminated button on the other. The Stellar Strata is a hybrid that combines a Class A preamp, a 384 kHz PCM and DSD128 DAC, a streamer, and a 2x100 W amplifier into 8 Ω, all in a chassis just 7 cm high. This device marks the brand’s grand return to France, direct from Boulder, Colorado, with the promise of being “The audiophile’s answer to the endless spiral of equipment.” Added to this is the benefit of the best in circuit design: the analog GainCell is a patented volume control circuit that doesn’t alter the sound regardless of the level. The Class A preamp is complemented by switching power stages operating on a principle designed to reproduce the sound of tubes using Class A biased MOSFET transistors…

The sound is also stellar: very grand, very wide, and three-dimensional. This impressively expansive soundstage is formed more towards the rear than the front of the speakers, a sign of excellent linearity and phase coherence. This is particularly evident in Silentium, the second movement of Arvo Pärt’s Tabula Rasa, where every silence, every note, every chord acquires, in this remarkable performance enhanced by impeccable recording, a palpable dimension, precisely inscribed in space and time (Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, Renaud Capuçon, Erato). With the Denon DCD-A110 playing CDs directly into the DAC, the percussion of the Berry Hayward Consort (Juan del Encina, BNL) is positioned directly in front of the listener. The speed of the strikes, the feel of the drumheads, and the rhythm of the sticks are clearly perceptible, without any limitations. In short, the electronics are rather smooth, generous, and balanced, energetic without being intrusive, to the point that you don’t hesitate to turn the volume up to a realistic level without any discomfort. Stellar…

Diapason d’or 2022: PS AUDIO STELLAR GAIN CELL DAC Preamplifier

PS AUDIO STELLAR GAIN CELL DAC Preamplifier: A Full and Serene Musicality
The return to France last summer of the American company PS Audio with a new distributor reminded us how important this brand is in the high-fidelity market in general and the digital music market in particular (see review of the Stellar Strata combo unit, Diapason d’or no. 706). In the same flat chassis made of two aluminum sheets separated by a black line, an OLED screen and an aluminum button on one side, and a blue illuminated button on the other, the Stellar Gain Cell DAC combines a balanced Class A preamplifier with a universal DAC and a headphone amplifier. The menu features three analog inputs, including one balanced XLR and one unbalanced RCA, dual XLR and RCA outputs, and a set of digital inputs covering virtually all possible formats—S/PDIF, Toslink, USB-B, and I2S—for processing 384 kHz PCM and DSD128 signals. The conversion chip is a 32-bit ESS ES9010K2M, integrated into a comprehensive circuit called Stellar DAC with passive filtering designed by chief engineer Bob Stadtherr. Three filter settings are available, from balanced to refined. The Gain Cell designates a non-destructive gain circuit (no potentiometer). The headphone output stage is also Class A and can deliver up to 2 x 3.25 W into 16 Ω. Something to look forward to…

A clear family resemblance links the Stellar Gain Cell DAC to the Stellar Strata reviewed in our issue #706, which we praised for its “generous and balanced, energetic without being intrusive” sound reproduction. All these qualities are even more pronounced when paired with our 2x105W dual-mono MOSFET amplifier and the Focal Spectral 40th speakers in our listening room. In other words, there’s something very musically mature, non-caricatured, and expressive about listening to this DAC preamp; every musical track passing through it comes out enhanced. A demonstration with the Litany of Fragmentation (“L.I.T.A.N.I.E.S.” Nicholas Lens, Nick Cave, The Fourteen Storks Ensemble. DG) demonstrates this perfectly, where the interplay between Clara-Lane Lens and Denzil Delaere takes on a live quality thanks to a rare level of presence. Another striking characteristic is the materiality of the bass register, which the Andante from Arthur Honegger’s Symphony No. 3 (SWR Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra, Stéphane Denève, Naxos) conveys with uncommon vigor and driving power. Arvo Pärt’s Spiegel im Spiegel (Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, Renaud Capuçon, Erato) aptly illustrates the expression “to give space”; the violin and piano are situated within a soundstage reminiscent of a live performance, free from the usual constraints on expressiveness. Much like the rubato of musicians, the Stellar Gain Cell DAC brings something to the music, an ability to flourish between accuracy and realism. The same feeling is evoked through headphones. Rare indeed.

2022 Stellar gain preamp - Diapason trophies

the end

Sorry, if I put those article in the wrong place, but Gold Diapason for outstanding performance, maybe worth a place somewhere on this forum?

Btw: If I offended someone, “Please Help, instead of critic, or share your knowledge instead asking moving out!”

PPS, I am not enough fluent in English to translate them! As some pointed out, I have a limited knowledge! But I used Google for those one!

Unfortunately I’m guessing most regular forum readers don’t speak French so cannot get past the cookie settings.
However, I’d suggest searching Audio Components for threads like “Stellar Gold Preamp”. I tried to add a link to an example but it didn’t work correctly.

there a automatic translate that suppose to work! I use it sometimes, but my wife love it for recipe and article.

Windows Bings: parameter/language/Traduction (toggle the virtual switch)

As amazing as it is, I exchange info for a batch of Custom made Jazz T-shirt with a Store in China! and it work well. Only thing, I have learn, they call everyone my friend and there is no yes or no, in there language!

Good Evening,

I used Google for translation, let me know if the traduction is awkward!

thanks for helping

Dam, I hope Qobuz will id AI and or stop.

Does AI pirate from AI. lol

I have amazon accounts in the UK, Japan, and the US currently and check prices against each other, then order the cheapest when planning to be in the country with the best price. A silly pennywise, pound foolish endeavor perhaps but I somehow feel I am ‘beating’ their rigged system when I do it - even for a few %!

Well done

A completely ridiculous, but very interesting take on playing vinyl. …" It knowingly leans into excess, described by the Swedish artist and craftsman as ‘over-engineered and very stupid,’…" What’s next? A LEGO CD player? :slightly_smiling_face:

Rats! You took my thunder away. Almost done putting it together-just can’t find the right colour lego piece for the read LED.

is it true?

30% of lp’s purchase is made by ppl without a Turntable

ppl purchase record has hockey card, or for decoration, 30% of the buying!

Ah Boulder, you never fail to disappoint. How could PS Audio possibly call anywhere else home?

TLDR:

  • Man arrested for trespassing after trying to get into unlocked cars and homes in Boulder.
  • He was booked on misdemeanors and released around 3AM
  • Boulder Fire Department rolls up to the jail in their fancy new electric fire engine around the same time and… drum roll please… our Boulder brother finally finds the unlocked vehicle he was looking for all night.
  • Police spot our boy cruising and while he seemed determined to spend the night in jail this night, he was not ready just yet. His sweat new ride had over 1000 HP and he had not yet gotten to see what her limits were.
  • What happened next will probably go down as the most robust electric fire truck field test to date. Multiple police departments got involved and it took multiple spike strips over multiple intersections to bring the evenings activities to an end.

Let’s hope PS Audio does not catch on fire over the next week or two. Sounds like it’s going to take some time to get that fire engine back up and running.
