Is it normal for the Sprout100 exterior to be too hot to the touch after 2-6 hours?

Is it normal for the Sprout100 exterior to be too hot to the touch (especially if it’s just on with no audio playing or it’s after 2-6 hours of operation)? My other amps don’t get hot like this and I have the Sprout100 placed in an open spot with good air circulation.

My Sprout100 was never more than warm to the touch. I think you may have a problem.

Same here. Warm to the touch and it has been running 24/7 for a year or more.

We have used it for several days for the HIFI demo … without any problems

Mine is on 24/7 and is warm but nowhere near hot. Time to call PSA CS.

Like others have said, it gets warm but should absolutely not burn you. I think you should give our guys a call. I’m not sure the expected operation temp, but it shouldn’t be too hot to touch.

yeah, being that it’s class-D, and no tubes, it should generate very little heat.

My Sprout does get warm at times. I’m wondering how much ventilation is needed.

Any advice on how I have it stored? I thought an inch clearance at top might be enough but not sure. The sides are clear but it does get very warm.

They do get warm when running. I have one in the machine shop that has been on 24/7 for a few years now and is still working fine FYI.

Looks good to me!

Thanks for taking time to respond Paul and Baldy.

A bit of paranoia was creeping in as I didn’t want to cause damage to the sprout.

Isn’t it Class D? If so, just warm should be expected.
