I mostly stream music from my iPad to my Sprout100 using Bluetooth. I assume the Bluetooth is streaming digital bits and is using the Sprout DAC. But I have heard people comment that it is analog that is being streamed, so I am confused. The Sprout manual also doesn’t list Bluetooth as being digital, but only the USB and Optical. I hope that I am streaming the best quality audio using Bluetooth?
BT is definitely digital. The bits that are being sent over the air do go through the Sprout’s DAC. This is part of the reason BT actually sounds quite good through the Sprout100.
