As an Italian-American, I approve of spaghetti masterpieces!
This would be completely incompatible with my OCD tendencies.
Didnât a Scotsman invent TV? Scotland is up north somewhere.
When I were a lad, we used to dream of 'avin bakelite switches - Dad made us turn on the lights with our tonguesâŚ
lights? you had lights?
blah blah cardboard boxes blah blah
scotland probably the safest place at the momentâŚ
We like Scotland. Booked our summer holiday the other day. I donât think they have TV but the view is nice.
We had plans for 2021, sister in-law and family were there in 2019, pre-COVID. Maybe 2022âŚ
We had an amazing week in Scotland in September 2020, walking every day. Another walking holiday planned. The natural reaction to being locked up for months on end. No desire to get on an aeroplane at all. The idea of going to an airport fills me with dread. When I was in college a good friend had a house in the Cairngorms. Always thought Scotland the most beautiful place on earth. The view from our hotel last year.
Thatâs an excellent view
Iâve been north of the border twice, both times to the Edinburgh vicinity, in December one time and February the other. It was cold. But very nice nonetheless, would have been good to travel further north
Steven, youâre a wimp. Drive to Scotland. I once did Edinburgh and back in a day to get a pair of speakers (from South West London). I did it in my Astra GTE 16V (itâs a Vauxhall or as non Brits know it, an Opel).
Anybody remember Nordost demos at the time? Apparently they had determined the ideal length of an interconnect - something obscure a wee bit over 4.2 meters. It was never quite clear to me how exactly they came up with the ideal length but of course it was all science, selling four times more cable had nothing to do with it.
I have to admit it took a lot of imagination to hear the difference between a meter pair and the magical length pair. That of course doesnât mean there wasnât a difference. And bear in mind I am not saying high end cables are all nonsense. I do have Valhalla tone arm cable and speaker cables and Valhalla v2 interconnect between my preamp and power amps. Each one in a regular length.
Ah, I had an Astra mark 4 - did a lot of UK miles in that visiting folks and camping trips and the like
Scotland is awesome! Canât wait to go back. Just need to make sure the next time I show up I will be issued my Aston Martin.
edit: typo
I always drive to Scotland. Last year we had a lunch booking at Tom Kitchinâs pub in Gullane at 1pm and got there from London 45 minutes early. Drove back non-stop after climbing Ben Vorlich, about 5 hours, then 8 hours driving home.
The year before worked all day, drove London to Leeds for a curry with my kids, then drove to Penrith to pick up some people and then to Adrossan near Glasgow to get the 6am ferry to Arran and spent the day climbing. Done many driving trips all over the place.
