i take it this is for vinyl? Because Roon does all this for digital.
Yes, physical LPs and CDs stored in my room, sorted on shelves by decades. I would like to keep in a database to to do search when:
- I have to purchase one - in order to avoid double copies
- I want to listen to one - in order to find it
- I bought one and I want to put on its own correct shelf
Yeah unfortunately there’s nothing like that on the market. There was a rumor that discogs could add the functionality but nothing has happened.
Due to all the repressings etc of vinyl you won’t get 100% of what you want but it can get you to choices of say 5 or 10 and then you can scrutinize your label to see which you have.)
Discogs has an open API. It’s possible to write an extension that might do that. (Unfortunately I don’t have time to research and implement 
)
