Just to confirm matrix have confirmed external 5v psu is outside of spec and may not work. 7-9v is the spec.

The Silver is a plated copper, I much prefer the Platinum. Solid silver always sounds highly detailed, without the harshness of plated copper.

Originally I stated that the Wireworld Silver Starlight HDMI sounded better than the DH Labs Glass Master optical cable between my Matrix and DSD Sr. That was with swapping them out and listening with just one cable connected at a time. Today I tried them with both cables connected at the same time…

Ted has explained in the past that doing it that way will yield identical results. That’s why he suggests unplugging the one not in use :+1:

Well if that’s actually the case then it’s nearly impossible if the two you are comparing are remotely close. By the time you switch them the brain has forgotten unless the difference is huge :^ /

Funnily enough, I have a Singxer Su6 that has 2 HMDI outlets. My new DSD DAC has 2 HDMI inputs. So I can (and have) switched between different cables (blind). Result? Very minor differences. I guess that’s not too surprising. But there were still small differences so it wasn’t a total blow out.

Congratulations. It took at least 2 weeks for me for the matrix. Then I changed cables and it took the cables at least a week or two.
