Matrix X-SPDIF 2

That was my thought earlier in the day when I saw that cable. I have been to Hong Kong and Beijing. There is a place there called the Silk Market. It is counterfeit heaven. I think you stand a better than 50% chance of getting a counterfeit. The picture looks like it should, but pictures are easy to find on this here Internet. I hope I am wrong about this.

EDIT:Okay, I read the feedback for these people and so sure, I bought one as well. From Hong Kong.

Fair enough. There does seem to be an issue getting a 1.0 meter length of that particular cable and I have purchased genuine product from that eBay seller in Hong Kong, that is why I posted the link.

0.5 metre version would be so much better in my view

Just to let folks know, I’ve gone ahead with the battery power option for the Matrix, as suggested by magicknow and aangen. All the parts received from Amazon and batteries currently charging so will be testing over the weekend and will report back. Total cost approx £60 so if it proves better than the ifi I’ll be selling that, net cost would around £30, so fingers crossed…

Cheers, Mike.

Looking forward to the feedback, I find if I don’t connect the battery that even though it seems to sound good I get the feeling something is missing, when I connect the battery that feeling go away  There is definitely an unwanted edge to the sound without the battery.

I love this. Haha. I have to admit that I have not gone down the power supply train yet. Right now I use the PS that came with my RUR. A typical plastic kind of thing. Takes it off of USB power - but … well I’m just not sure I want to go there. lol

Well at least they are not fakes  The Hong Kong dealer just canceled my order saying the Hong Kong distributor is out of stock.

Well, at least one of us on here knew this was the case.

Sorry to hear it didn’t pan out. Crazy it is so difficult to get a hand on one of these elusive cables!

thanks for posting the link

Out of stock on fakes? J/K! Hope you find the genuine article in stock somewhere.

Here is a sweet deal on a 20-meter WW Platinum Starlight 7 HDMI for $4,999 (regularly $10,500!):

Couldn’t we just cut this up in 1 meter lengths and have 20 people pay 250 dollars??

Is the Wireworld hdmi really that good??

The picture of the ‘7’ shows furniture in the background suggesting this wire is kept in a pimp house.
Just saying,

… which raises the question of whether the wire was used for things other than digital signal transmission! :money_mouth_face:

That’s funny. I was in no way trying to ‘diss’ Jeff’s link to be clear. Just that the price wasn’t that great and given where it was coming from … proceed with caution. And since the price was essentially full retail - why not be patient. Also pointing out a certified dealer (a large dealer of wireworld product) stated the 8 was supposed to come out first quarter 2019. The eclipse 8 cables have gotten good reviews on the site I had mentioned above. No guarantee the silver starlight 8 will be better - but wireworld has a pretty good track record with such things.

Me too. I am sad.

The red-clad Starlight 7 HDMI (which my WW dealer advises is indistinguishable sonically from the Silver and Platinum Starlight 7’ HDMI’s) sounds phenomenal.

Hey Boot - what are your thoughts after break in?

I have less than 20 hours on it, but it is great – smooth and organic, yet richly detailed.
