MK2 - Matrix, Sonore SE vs Airlens

My current setup (yes I’m stuck between MK-I and MK-2 worlds - AKA limbo land):

Sonore Deluxe SE → (Curios Blue USB) → Matrix → (AQ carbon, I2S) → MK2

Now I’m confused about AL (AirLens), should I remove Sonore SE and Matrix and replace it with AL in my chain? My understanding is AL is replacement for Sonore + Matrix combo.

In other words, does my setup fully harness the power of MK2?

Is the general consensus that AL → MK2 chain sounds better?

The matrix is certainly no longer needed with the MK2. take the money from that, the carbon and the Upgrade the USB cable to best you can afford and its a killer setup.
