Anxiously awaiting what PS will offer as a trade up from MKII to the PMG.
Same with the BHK Pre !
Yes, they do seem to be dragging this on a bit. Hopefully they will come to the realization that people are a bit cautious with big purchases now in these dark times and they will price it accordingly.
probably related to the ever changing tariff mess
I bet its supply related in some form or fashion. Plus a nifty deal with TMR. Got to do something with the incoming Mkiis
Agreed! My hope is that what Paul said is true! (He said the deal would put a smile on our faces)
I’m also wondering if they would allow a bundled trade in for extra value with the Airlens (since the new DAC comes with a streamer built in)
Nowadays, we order taco’s instead of popcorn…
I’d really like to plunk down the $300 to pre order the PMG Dac, but I need to know what the trade in will be for the MKII. Waiting somewhat patiently…
I am interested in PMG SACD and DAC upgrade, but i purchased PST and DAC mkII about a year ago so not sure it will be worth it, I heard from grapevine that trade in will be $ 3K each.
To my knowledge, nothing official has been announced by PS Audio to-date. Paul has mentioned that the trade in program for the PMG components ‘would put a smile on our face’ or something to that effect. Historically, the highest trade in value I recall seeing was 40% of MSRP. DSD MK2s currently have a $7999 MSRP so such a trade-in value would be $3200. So your grapevine may not be far off albeit speculative at this point.
WOW, you might be correct, but that is the magic number floating around at this time.
Don’t blame me,I have an inquiring mind.
BTW,What is the big deal for limiting PMG SACD trade on offer only to current PST/SACD owners?
It has been said that CD/SACD drives are in limited supply, but then I might be wrong.
I haven’t heard of that restriction. In the past, PS Audio has not discriminated between their products and those from other manufacturers when it comes to their trade-in program. That’s not to say the program couldn’t change although I doubt it will a.) because it’s a great way to incentivize non-PS Audio consumers to give their products a try and b.) their relationship with The Music Room (TMR). Again, what I’m stating here is only my speculation based on how things have worked in the past. Paul may have something completely different up his sleeve. Hopefully, he’ll be announcing the actual program soon and all this speculation can be put to rest.

PMG Signature SACD Transport
Release Date 2025 TBD. Now Accepting $300 Preorder Deposits. MSRP: $8,999. Trade-in Eligibility is Limited Exclusively to the PerfectWave SACD Transport."
Gotcha! I was unaware of that provision as I’m not looking to migrate to any of the PMG components. Thanks for the clarification.
I hope they change their mind about this policy.
Depending on the reviews, I would be tempted to trade in my one of my DS Sr. DACs or my DirectStream Memory Player transport for one of the new PMG pieces.
is there any reviews posted?
The products have not been released for sale yet.
I would not be surprised if early production units are submitted to reviewers in advance though, so that reviews can come out around the time the kit goes on general sale in the U.S. and elsewhere.
I wonder if that great sale at the end of the last year(MKll) was getting rid of stock for the new DAC?Streamer?? That’s when I got my MKll and I’m keeping it.
there are only a limited number being made. That most likely why.
Limited number of ??
