Thanks Ted!
Letting all this happen (even for a not yet released product) and even supporting it to a meaningful degree, for me is the single best act for the community and shows great transparency and openness of Paul and Ted. I continue to be really impressed!
I have rewired a pair of 4400 transformers to give +6dB more gain. Works great and sounds more dynamic. It doesnāt sound as good as the premium transformers however they cost way less.
Some of you should be getting your transformers today
Received! A nice beat bit of work. Thanks Jeff.
No news from the owners of lundahl?
They just arrived, I guess it will take another 6-12 weeks until Iād have the DS forth and back from modding. Before they are soldered in I have to get the transformers tuned at a different place like the whole rest of the DAC. And if I also want to fully search/understand the recommended cap mod for implementation (not to speak of the VOCM thing, which probably is too complicated to even tell a modder with clear recommendations out of the thread), I guess it will rather take the 12 weeks.
I also have it out currently for a completely different improved tuning, which I want to check for the result first, to not confuse effects.
Letās see if the Airlens shows up on the horizon in the meantime, then thereās another improvement coming. Something going on on my digital side in the next months
Hi Ted,
I understand that the transformer configuration (serie or parallel) has no problem with my Spectralās (preamp) 10K low input resistance.
I would think to keep the output impedance of the DS as low as possible for the best result.
Received the Lundahlās from a European distributor. Installation with jkrichardās adaptors was flawless. All I could do was a short test run. Everything works as expected. I am a little busy these days but will report later.
Unfortunately I had a problem paying with credit card to purchase lundahl on audiohobby site. I tried 3 different cards of 3 different banks and the result is negative.
Did you try PayPal?
I have them but my friend who does the work is too busy right now
No PayPal on Turkey
Looks like it fell off the Postmanās truck. Twice.
A miracle it was delivered at all.
Itās a good thing they are indestructible and I wrapped them in the 2 page manual.
Looks like they pull it from the engine compartment.
I personally just donāt have much respect or trust for the USPS anymore YMMV. T
I was a bit nervous when I unpacked the package today.
And there are some problems.
I will send you a message.
I solved the Lundahl intake problem.
Iām waiting.
Photo or video for montage would be greatly appreciated at this stage.
Iām afraid of making mistakes.
