My PMG Signature preamp doesn’t mute completely. When I use the “mute” on the remote while the cartridge is still in the grooves, I hear very soft music coming through the tweeters and midrange. It is very soft but noticeable. I thought “mute” supposes to stop the signal and it should be dead quiet.
I emailed support and they said I could hear noise but not music. Well I tested it many times. I heard very soft music on mute. It doesn’t really bother me, but “mute” should mute. Perhaps “mute” means “soften the sound” in PS Audio engineering? New PMG Signature preamp owners, would you test it and let me know? Thanks in advance.

Should I be concerned? Should I send the unit back for diagnosis? The preamp sounds fantastic and I don’t want to send it back unless I have to.
