Better electron flow?

Hmmm

I use Wathen tubes in my audio/video system which is a bit less resolving than my main system. I had used them in the main system, they are quite good–but I find I prefer the NOS Holland made tubes that I use instead, they are a bit more refined and resolving and don’t give the eventual listening fatigue the wathen do in that system.

One additional note: I tried both the Wathen 5AR4 and 5U4 rectifiers, and did not like them in either system as much as many other rectifier choices.

Potentialluy the Wathen may have an advantage in longevity. But if the sound isn’t superior, I value longevity a bit less.

Lon,

Where did you get your 300b tubes?

Thanks,
Steve

First I had a pair of Sophia Electric Classic 300B that i bought as a demo pair from Sophia Electric. I liked them, but thought they were a bit too bright. A few talked me into buying a pair of the Wathen 300B-WC and I liked them more but kept trying to find just the right tube complement for them and always seemed to want “more.” One of the kindest and most knowledgable audio persons I know sent me a pair of Shuguang Black Treasure Collectors Edition 300B-Z to try out thinking they were to my taste and boy was he right. So I looked about and bought a pair of them from Parts Connexion:

I sold the Wathen 300B-WC and bought two more pair of the 300B-Z, one from Parts Connexion, and one from ebay, to have as backups into the future. I love these tubes, especially when I found the perfect rectifier to use with them, the Psvane Treasure 274B-Z.

This video was awesome! You did an excellent job explaining all the details about the accessories and tweaks you use for your setup. It’s clear that you put a lot of work into this project, and it shows in every frame. I love how you added a personal touch to each accessory, making your setup not only functional but also visually appealing.

By the way, if you’re dealing with snipping tool not working, I’d recommend looking up a guide to fix it. There are some great solutions available online.

Great breakdown in the video, seriously loved how you walked through every accessory and why you chose it the setup looks clean and well-thought-out. You can really tell the effort behind it. And yeah, for anyone facing the snipping tool issue, checking a quick fix guide online definitely helps a lot.
