I have a Marantz Model 30 and also suffer from random protection mode. My issue is not tied specifically to the phono stage though. My protection mode activates randomly regardless of function. Sometimes it activates multiple times in an hour, sometimes it is several days or weeks between incidents. I am out of warranty now and very frustrated. I’ll follow this thread in case someone has some good luck solving this issue.
