I always listen my album twice and if there is more than 2 songs that annoy me, i discard it
I feel ok, with this decision. There were unlistenable Also when bad recording, I always discard them.
As always, I have a bunch of CD, that was going for exchange at music store.
Just for fun, since I have new PS Audio amplifier and phono stage, I decided to listen to them again, for a third time, some at still a discard, but some now play just right, “It was my old system that could not deliver…!”
So my nightmare: how many I discard, that in fact were peculiar in there music approach and there refinement, that were not playable/audible in my previous system! It is more obvious on live recording, that I am an afficionado.
Laura Nyro, Shepp, Rush live, etc…
Another strange fact, my dogs that always snooze when I listen music, now get awake by micro detail in the recording, they bark for a car in background, most amazing one is the Pink Floyd the Wall, the keep look in the direction image appear in the sound.
They also, change direction on the floor, if i listen music [the sleep closer to me] or watch TV [they look the TV], before changing gear, it was just snoozing on the carpet!
Now, I have so many barking, in music and movie, it is annoying a real nightmare.
now after two month, they start to calm down, but in my old jazz host presenter, it always a few bark, at the beginning of the album when he present the band or a song!

I am enjoying now the live recording in Newport from Archie Shepp/John Coltrane - New thing at Newport, that was an album unlistenable before.
The stage is there, you hear musician humming while the piano play, and crown that follow the band. All instrument are in Harmony! Before, well, it was going to the dumpster! How many, I waste? how many? A nightmare, when I think about it….!
