I have to agree, the black stands that came with my Magnepans were ugly! As soon as I ordered them, I called Magnepan and asked if they’d be kind enough to sent me the drawing for the oval base. I was told they really shouldn’t. I countered with, that’s fine, but I’m going to reverse engineer them and make them anyway. I’d sure like to have my new cherry bases complete by the time my speakers arrived. They agreed to send the plans if I promised to send them pictures of the completed stands. I doubt if they sound any better than the stock stands but they sure look a lot better. I also can’t raise my speakers any higher than they are. There’s a wood covered I-beam right above my left speaker. I might have an inch clearance. That’s why 20.7s are out for me as well. They just won’t fit in the room.
