Neodio Origine B2, another snake oil... or

Great  :joy:

I have to put them on the floor in front of the speakers because the top of them is not flat. I guess you can find even better improvements placing them on top of yours.

Referring to my pic.
1-2 are the most impactful. Haze is vanishing and you can feel to be totally immersed into music.
3-4-6-7 are acting as a bulb able to enlighten sounds and instruments coming from the soundstage, micro dynamics and details in abundance. Better sense of depth and speakers disappearing.
8-9-10 are able to bring realism, the center of the scene is my favorite part, where I constantly look at when I listen to music. I better see the singer mouth, breath, facial expression and posture. HiFi is an illusion, this portion can contribute more than others to trick my brain.
5 (on the floor under the amp - face down on the floor) is bringing presence, again realism. The musical message is stronger, every distraction disappears, all is quieter, balanced and engaging. I can say this is the second most impactful placement.

As for the pieces on top of the components on the rack, side wall, the one on top of the PSM 156 is the winner. It is cleaning the sound, improving the silence during low passages. I tried putting 2 pieces under it (footer like) with subtle results.

Hope that helps.

Four is possible if I hide two of them under the speakers and two between components. Eight will be too many to hide. Does four give only 50% effects on managing water molecules?:slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks Luca, gives me lots of pointers where to place mine when they arrive, hopefully by the end of this week.

It could be enough, Donald. But I strongly recommend 2 on top of the speakers (FR30s seem to be flat) and the others at your choice, experimenting. And I know you like experimenting…

My floor is wooden (applied on a thin layer of rubber supported by the tiles below). This might be why in my case it works so well that way.
How is your floor made?

At JFK International Airport waiting for flight to Toronto, and naturally I’m checking into this site again.

I have enough tweaks on hand to keep me busy after my Asia trip, but eventually I may get drawn into this B2 thing again.

Please! Someone please tell me this thing is useless and it’s all in your head within the next two months.

These things are useless and it’s all in my head, my friend! Ok now you can stop reading the forum! Have a safe trip.

Luca, have you settled on the placements, or are you still experimenting?

I’m liking what I’m hearing, so I think I’m done. Last night at home before a vacation. Next week I’ll be back and I’ll decide.
Have you received yours?

Not yet, dealer has received them today so with me on Thursday.

Keep me informed and don’t forget: a few pics please! Enjoy!

I caught up on the B2 in the WhatsBest forum.
Someone recommended placing them on subwoofers.
I’ve loads of places to try mine, under amps, P20, etc and around the room.
Did you find placement critical, i.e. quarter inch movement can make a big difference?
I’ve never been very keen on ‘publishing’ photos of my system, or listing it. Once you post a photo you’ve lost control of it

Enjoy your vacation.

Don’t worry, I understand completely. Feel free to PM me if you want.

Yes, even a few inches backwards (pieces 3 and 4 in my previous pic) made a difference by illuminating portions of the soundstage on that line, creating a better balanced image between the centered lead vocal and the instruments on the center sides. Like a dimmer, so to speak.

Yes, happy to PM you, if I figure out how to do that as it’s not something I’ve done before on this forum.

Interesting to hear placement is important.
With the demo 4 I have I’ve been happy to put two on top of my speakers, at the front beside a supertweeter. The other two are placed at the front corner, closest to the hi-fi, on a piece of furniture on each side of the room.

Received my 2 sets of B2’s today, so 8 in total, but as the manual states it takes 24 hours for the water molecules in the B2’s to equate with the water molecules in the room, I know, I know, sounds like voodoo science, but these things work.

I did place 4 of them where I had the shop demo set and added the other 4 to new locations.
I did hear the ‘relaxing and easy going’ sound of the demo set with initial listening this morning but I’ll get to hear them much better over the weekend after they’ve had the one day to ‘acclimatize’ to the room.

To be honest I didn’t need 24 hours for acclimation IME but I could be wrong. Enjoy!

Hi Luca … that’s what the manual states and the dealer I purchased them from ended his email which stated he was glad I got them today as promised, ended with :-
Tomorrow the fun begins.

I know, I know even Stephane the owner, said the same thing.

I got a couple of hours listening late last night, so about twelve hours on the B2’s.
I was very happy with how the system was sounding, the same ease of presentation, vocals easier to follow, etc
Now the next day and the B2’s will have the full 24 hours on them, I should get some more listening in late tonight after a friend leaves.
Initial positioning as follows :-
one on the top of each speaker, at the front.
One each side of the room on furniture, about 2/3 rds down the room.
One underneath my P20 wh9ich is supported by Stillpoints
One beside the power inlet on my projector at the back of the room
One on top my processor
One on the rack top shelf that holds my cs transport and dac.

Over the next week I plan to experiment more with placements.
