New forum info

Ok guys, sorry, I just got back near a computer. I’ve been super busy at Axpona showing off DirectStream. My apologies for the forums just showing up. No sooner did I land at DIA, drove home and kissed Terri, than I rushed in here to try and help out on the forums.

Here’s the deal. The new forums are NOT ready for general use in an approved manner. By that I mean there’s work needed to tie them into the main system properly. Well, that might be obvious. My purpose in writing this is to ask for a bit of patience. We went live Saturday morning because it was the only way we could get the forum to integrate with the website database. Our webmaster, Ryan, will not be able to work on the integration of the forums until first thing Monday morning (he actually wanted a day off). So I don’t want you thinking we launched the new forums and they are hopelessly F’d up. They are not. They just need to be worked on. We really are aware of their state.

Patience Grasshoppers.

We haven’t reinstated the Community leaders, we haven’t updated the user database. It’s just limping along, but it’s there. I don’t believe we lost any ground on the posts, they were all saved and should be here. This is now based on a program called Simple Press, rather than Vanilla. Simple Press is a much better platform than Vanilla, I assure you. But most important, it actually works with the core operating system of the website, its database etc. It is, for the first time, truly integrated and that will make life easier and better once the transition is complete.

So there have been some positive helpful posts, for which I am appreciative. It has been pointed out (thank you!!) that if you go My PS in the upper header menu of this website, then go to preferences and simply click on the Update button at the bottom of the page, it should re-instate your correct user name. Or you can just wait and we’ll hopefully fix it Monday.

Also on Monday we’ll get the Smileys, the roles correct, the WYSIWYG editor back in the posts, some order to the chaos and by week’s end all should be back to having fun and being informed.

As for DirectStream, I just flew in tonight. I have a quick 10K race I am running in the morning and then all day Sunday and most of the day Monday I am auditioning DirectStreams in Music Room One. We should be able to ship all that we promised if I can get through them all before I leave for Texas on Tuesday morning. It’s a bit difficult for me right now, but I swear to you I am doing my best.

Anything the Community leaders can do, as well as our honored members of this forum, to keep the peace and help out during the transition, I would be ever so grateful. Email me if you have questions or comments and I’ll do my best to answer.

I am listening, I do know it’s F’d up, and we’re on it. Really!!

No worries Tony, this has been a trying period of transition but it’ll be better. Thanks so much for the patience and understanding.

Of course it’s very difficult at a show to demonstrate anything but I think we delighted more than a few people. I probably should have brought a PWD along with me so we could do an A/B and that would have been more demonstrative of the differences. But it was pretty easy for many people to hear what DirectStream was doing and I think it went very well.

Thanks for reading. The store on the website is there for US customers and it won’t be visible for customers outside the US since we cannot sell outside the US except through distributors. I think it’s perhaps better this way because it made a lot of folks unhappy with us when they would see the products for sale but then realized they weren’t able to purchase them if they weren’t in the US,

Hmm, tough call. I can see where having a PWD side by side would have been a good thing, but at the same time the PWD is such a great DAC. Almost seems like it isn’t right to compare the two.

Listen to me! I’m all for comparative assessment, and I plan to do this for myself with the DS - but it’s only okay for people who own a PWD! :-)

Paul, I am in Puerto Rico and we are a territory of US and I can’t see the store, I have an order I made in the store in march 5, 2014. I can’t see and track my order any more.

So the store and product pages seem to have been integrated. I don’t know what shows up outside the US (including in US territories). None of my purchases, including those still under warranty, are currently being displayed but hopefully that will be fixed soon. We all need to show a little patience (me very much included).

Thanks Paul for the most helpful update. PS Audio always comes through in the end. My sincere apologies for any impatience that I exhibited on the other thread. (-:

No option to purchase for me, the store is completely vanish from here. I hope this is an error. Paul please help me

Assuming PS Audio continues to sell directly to Puerto Rico, you can always order by phone if the website is not working for you.

Also the registered products are still missing, guess its still during merging period of time.

I had an issue where my user name was coming up wrong. I see it’s now corrected. I did have to select my username in preferences to display, however.

I cannot get rid of the WRONG user name. How do I do it.

I just noticed my previous post was under “geoffconway” instead of mine “jazzbug”, I went to my profile its still showing 'jazzbug" there, hope this post fixes it.
