That was absolutely amazing! The wide angle lens of the camera tends to exaggerate speed, but just the same he was flying and going over those rocks was frightening. I can imagine some other riders on that course had spectacular crashes.

I’ve always enjoyed John’s approach to our hobby and welcomed his integrity. Sad news for sure but addressing his health and making changes is a strong step in the right direction! Been there and done that.

The YouTube algorithm presented this little gem. It’s worth watching just to see how many things Arthur got right; how many were in the ballpark and those which were so far off they’re hilarious. A few are a bit cringe worthy, also.
Remember, this was filmed in 1964, the same time as the NY World’s fair. Telstar 1 had only been launched two years earlier and was considered a marvel of communications back then.
SPOILER ALERT: His “spot on” average is around 700.
