Nugs anyone?

Roon just announced that Nugs has been integrated with Roon. As I understand it, Nugs focuses on streaming live performances and has a library of ~30,000. Roon is offering a free 60-day trial of their HiRes subscription ($24.99/mo thereafter). Their standard (non-HiRes) subscription is $14.99/mo. There is also a free membership with very limited selections available (and presumably not HiRes).

As a sufferer of subscription fatigue, I’m not sure why I’m even subjecting myself to this temptation but wanted to get some feedback from the community on any experiences with Nugs.

It took me a while to find an artist I was interested in but I finally did. The concert recording was extremely good. Then I tried to find one more artist I was interested in. No luck.

I think that will be it for my Nugs experience. I am so not into jam bands.

We already cancelled.

Thanks guys - your experiences seem to track with what I’ve read separately since creating the topic. General consensus is the quality, particularly the HiRes offerings, are very well done; however, notwithstanding the 30,000 title library the available selections seemed narrow. At a monthly rate of $24.95, I think this is an easy ‘pass’.

YES! Our local Bodega stocks them. :joy: My fav candy from Mexico.

I had a trial offer last year for 4 months. When I used it I really enjoyed it, but I do not think they have have enough artists and content for everyday use for most people. As I recall lot of artists were not very mainstream, which is not a bad thing if you are into that type of music.

For me the best part was access to the Tedeschi Trucks Band concert videos. Great live band and every show is different. However, I don’t want to see them everyday.

You can buy downloads too. I bought a few things, but the service is nowhere as good as Qobuz for music offerings.

I will take Nugs up on the 60-day offer again to watch a couple shows, but I am not likely to subscribe afterwards.

Thanks for sharing. I was not familiar with them but really enjoy live music. This might be up my ally, even with the limitations people have listed.
