Any word on batch 2? I haven’t received a tracking number yet.
Batch two is rolling and we’re chipping away at it the best we can. I just looked yours up and we got it out the door on the 17th of last month. Do you still not have it?
My order was placed on June 29th. Not sure if that’s early enough to be included in batch 2 shipments or not.
It might be on its way to Norway, MI…in the U.P.!

Ha! If I’d waited a couple of hours for today’s mail, I wouldn’t have had to ask the question! Thanks!
Hey James, yes it was waiting for me in PO Box! Thanks for the update!
So got my copy! I would have to say that I agree with a lot of posters that the recording qualities of this album are first rate. It sounds gorgeous! The placement of the piano is different than a lot of recordings and does sound more like your are seated at the piano as opposed to a few feet away, but I find it quite engrossing. The music selection is nice, but I do agree with many that it does tend to blend together, there’s not a diverse selection of music. It tends to be a bit in the “background” category of music, but, at the same time, if you give it the time, it is very intriguing. But you do have to sit and listen.
All in all I think it is a good start and look forward to more releases (and downloads…) from Octave.
That’s awesome. Thanks for sharing
I’ve found that I get better sound playing the redbook files on my Rega Planet, with digital coax out to the SGCD, than I get playing the DSD files on my Marantz SACD player, through its analog outs. The Marantz is a tiny bit less crisp. Still very musical, but it removes the sensation of being in the same room as the piano. Since my player falls right in line with what most people say is a characteristic “warm” sound among Marantz SACD players, I wasn’t shocked.
Here’s a curious aside - when I received my copy I wasn’t paying attention and I accidentally put the data disc in the Marantz, and it couldn’t recognize the disc. No big surprise there, but what was a surprise was it wouldn’t eject it. Mild panic ensued momentarily. I had to try powering it down, while hitting the drawer open button immediately after turning it on. Took three tries to get it to work.
my yamaha dvd player does the same with discs it is struggling with.
Mine arrived yesterday. I’d actually forgotten about it. Thanks for reminding me by delivering it!
Yes! Let us know what you think.
Paul, do you know when the next release will be and who will be featured on it? (obviously COVID impacted here…)
I´m not a piano man, it´s sounds great, feels like i inside the piano
Next will be inside a drum…or the singer swallows the mic
It is an exceedingly odd perspective, but most are enjoying it.
I concur, it adds a dimension to hearing a piano that is very unique. Not sure why it bothers some so, but to each his/her own.
